Good stay
Spacious and comfortable room. It is not far from the center you reach on foot very soon. Free parking is available in front of the hotel. A little serious receptionists find it hard to offer you a smile. Overall good hotel.

Good, simply normal
Everything is fine: friendly front-desk staff, clean room, comfortable bed, stable WiFi.
Somewhat puzzling is the nomenclature: what the front desk somehow called an "executive room" seemed simply ... normal. What was called "luxury" seemed simply ... normal. Overall, the hotel is slightly dated.
I did not have enough time to take advantage of the spa, so that may well have been great.
Both the train station and University of Aveiro are within walking distance.
Breakfast was good, but had limited choices, particularly regarding fresh fruit and vegetables. Great: strong coffee. It unfortunately only starts at 7:30.
My room faced a neighborhood courtyard in which some folks were talking and discussing pretty loudly into late into the night - certainly not the hotel's fault, but comes with the location.
In summary: this is a good place to stay, just not exceptional.

Loved this hotel. Very comfortable bed. Great bar. Nice location. Helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely consider this one again for the next time and will try the sauna. Thank you.

Nice short stay
The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the main town with sufficient parking around the building. The staff were extremely kind and thoughtful when I was feeling unwell: the reception staff called our room to ask whether we had everything we needed and the restaurant staff were amazing by offering me a simple meal to restore my strength - exactly what the doctor ordered! Thank you for making us feel welcome and keep up the excellent service.
Disliked · Perhaps a better check on the hot food at breakfast as the scrambled eggs were a little cold.

Hotel Alfonso V is a very pleasant, quiet, wooded, and flowered place...
"AVEIRO the Little Venice" We have known it for years, but not Hotel Alfonso V.
Dreamy decor, beautiful trees, lovely lawn, nice walk...
A beautiful hotel that is a bit out of the ordinary but comfortable and very pleasant;
Delighted by excellent service in French, very friendly and kind. The restaurant, bar, and breakfast are very welcoming, with kind, smiling, and available waitstaff, well-presented dishes, and very good products... Spacious and comfortable rooms with a beautiful view of the city and the sea. A very, very pleasant stay. Thank you very much, see you soon with pleasure. " Surprise! We were able to see the European Marathon in Aveiro. We did not try the spa and massages, but we will return soon...
