Very comfortable Pousada

Really good Pousada close to the old city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though lovers of modernisms will probably find them a tad old fashioned. Pool very welcome on hot day, and free help yourself bar with drinks and snacks by pool was a nice touch. Ample free parking.
Breakfast excellent. We did not dine in the restaurant, principally as it was closed for one of our two nights and also (and visitors should be aware of this) because no doubt it has a Michelin Star it is, by Portuguese standards, outrageously expensive. There are plenty of superb, more moderately priced places to eat in the town, but you will need transport to reach them.

Great views - but a steep walk up from town

We stayed 3 nights in a lovely large room with views across the valley to the Castelo which is lit-up at night. Check-in and parking right outside couldn’t have been easier. The room was spacious with enough room for a couple of lounge chairs as well as the balcony with more seating. Best part was the bed and bedding which felt luxurious. Bathroom a decent size and spotlessly clean. A good spread for breakfast with attentive service for hot drinks. If walking, the old town is about 15 minutes away including a long staircase or 20 minutes around the road. The Castelo is a further 15 minute walk up a fairly steep incline. Beware of GPS directions as ours sent us via some very narrow old town streets which was unnecessary. We later saw signposts via main roads which would have been much easier.

A completely successful stay.

Interesting architecture and beautiful rooms overlooking the castle. Staff are super friendly and the restaurant outstandingly good.

The hotel with the best view of the old town

The most beautiful is the location overlooking the old town of Braganca. The reception is very friendly, the decor functional, everything is very clean. The bed in our room was very comfortable, the bathroom nice and big. A bottle of water was available in the room. View from the balcony fantastic. Breakfast was as the decor of the hotel functional. However, the choice of food offered at breakfast lacks local, seasonal products. Especially the fruit selection in the harvest season is very thin. The presentation is functional but charm-free. Also, the breakfast room with its furnishings does not seem very welcoming. The bananas stored overnight in the refrigerator had a continuous brown skin, the pineapple was overripe. The coffee cups are the size of cereal bowls, the filter coffee was rather thin. There are better hot drinks at almost every gas station.
Free parking is available on the hotel premises.
This pousada is perfect for a stay in Braganca due to its location.

Wonderful guesthouse, quiet and welcoming Mood

Wonderful guesthouse, quiet and welcoming Mood that was what we were looking for to relax. Ample room, well decorated, with plenty of natural light, balcony and a magnificent view over the Bragança Castle.
All staff are friendly, available, professional and ready to help seeking the well-being of customers, as it is by the way in any Pousada.
Excellent breakfast very varied and always repairing, with superb views of the city.
To say of dinners every day a unique experience was at Restaurant G, naturally understood to have the Michelin reward. As throughout the hostel the Chief and the rest of the Staff, very friendly always careful with the slightest thing for everything to run well and yet with relaxed Mood is indeed exceptional.
