Fabulous

Small hotel, great experience. Perfect location between the historic center and the bridge to cross the river. Room very clean and welcoming, young and very kind staff. Rooftop terrace for a drink with a breathtaking view. Highly recommended!

A great hotel

A wonderful hotel in the centre of this lovely town. Historic but modernized, spotlessly- clean rooms, very reasonable rates and professional, courteous staff.
David, who served at the cosy rooftop bar, was outstanding: one of the kindest and most obliging staff members you could wish for. Ines also deserves a special mention. But ALL the staff were a credit to this fine hotel.

Excellent stay

We both really enjoyed our short 2 night stay. We took a taxi from the railway station as the local station next to the hotel is no longer in use. Check-in was swift and courteous by a young lady who spoke flawless English.
The room was a reasonable size, not huge, but big enough for two, modern design, and very clean. It had all the amenities we needed, safe, coffee maker, storage space, aircon, TV with international channels, a comfortable bed. And the bathroom was good too.
Breakfast was very nice, better than in other 3 star hotels on this trip. Fresh orange juice, a good choice of fruit and cereals, lovely local cheeses and charcuterie, good bread, excellent coffee, and some hot dishes.
We enjoyed the rooftop bar which affords a fantastic view of Coimbra up on the hill. We went for a pre-dinner drink on both evenings. The cocktails I had were expertly mixed by a very friendly, yet efficient young female bartender.
There are several restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but the main pedestrian street and the town centre is only a short walk away.
All the staff we encountered very friendly, very polite, and helpful. We would stay again, if we ever returned to Coimbra , even if the price was a little steep.

Great location near the historic centre, despite the run-down building and former Station opposite.
Comfortable if fairly basic room and reasonable inclusive breakfast. Pleasant bar with outside terrace on upper floor.
Friendly, helpful and efficient staff.
