Great place to rest after exploring the Douro Valley.

Not the place to go off season
There is no bus, and it would take more than an hour to walk from Pinhao station.
A taxi costs about €15 one way. There is no parking near the lodge.
There are no restaurants or shops nearby. You can buy snacks at the lodge's front desk.
Because we came during the off-season, there was no one else staying there.
We had the fairly large lodge to ourselves, but it was very lonely.
On the contrary, I didn't expect there to be a manager there, although there must have been some circumstances.
The lodge is worth the price, spacious and clean.
There is a wonderful garden, but if you come during the off-season, you can't see anything because of the fog.
A taxi costs €30 round trip, so if you're only staying for one or two nights, it's a bit expensive.
This lodge is recommended by locals, so it would be a great experience if you're staying during the on-season.

A wonderful hidden gem
As the area is in the wine making region we had a free bottle of white wine waiting for us and later they provided us with an amazing red. We breakfasted under an orange tree in a lovely courtyard and I might add the tree's oranges were juicy.
The B&B was a bout 5km from town and they joyfully ran us into town and picked us up as long as we could fit in with their work schedules and it was never a problem. My husband hiked the hills around the B&B and enjoyed the extensive views down the river. It was Spring/Summer so the weather was sensational.
The B&B is run by young twins, George and Rachael and they do a great job. The rooms are clean and really comfortable with a modern feel. The whole establishment is designed with a modern comfortable effect. We enjoyed ourselves so much we extended our stay.

Très charmante Casa
Les chambres sont spacieuses, literie confortable, salle de bains pratique et la climatisation est appréciable ! Le seul point négatif des chambres est le manque de prises d’électricité proche des lits.
La mise à disposition d’une piscine un peu plus loin dans la rue est un vrai plus car Pinhao est une ville très chaude qui atteint vite les 35-45 degrés l’été.
La Casa est située à environ 4km du centre de Pinhao, il faut compter entre 6 et 8 euros pour une course en taxi.
L’extérieur est très charmant avec une magnifique vue sur la vallée du Douro. Il y a un petit jardin dans lequel sont installés des poufs et des chaises, parfait pour un peu de lecture. Le petit déjeuner (supplément 5 euros par personne) est plutôt bien fourni et continental.
En bref, je recommande ce logement loin de la foule touristique de Pinhao !

Vue superbe sur les vignes. Avec une belle terrasse (attention aux moustiques).
petit déjeuner copieux, cuisine équipée et boissons fraiches (en suppl) à dispotion.
Bon accueil personnalisé.
Seul point noir : le parking pour se garer, mieux vaut avoir le compas dans l'oeil.
