Amazing

Our stay at the Octant Évora was truly memorable. The hotel is ideal for those seeking peace and relaxation in the heart of Alentejo. All areas and services show care, high quality and a Welcoming atmosphere.
We want to highlight the spa area, which offers a relaxing and sensuous experience with a very professional team. Even the cuisine deserves great praise – regional flavors, local ingredients and impressive precision in execution.
We also had the opportunity to meet Chef Natanael, who kindly welcomed us, showed the enoteket and created a special dish where his creativity and modern interpretation of Alentejan cuisine really found expression. The visit to the chef’s garden was also a fantastic experience, underlining the hotel’s strong connection to nature and the origin of the ingredients.
Despite the consistently high level, we would like to make two constructive comments: during one dinner, the food arrived before the cocktail, which slightly affected the tempo of dinner; and the road leading to the hotel could be improved, as it does not quite match the quality offered by the rest of the experience.
Overall, we highly recommend Octant Évora and are already looking forward to coming back. A stay that impressed us through authenticity, comfort and a team truly passionate about hosting.

Unwelcoming environment

We booked accommodation with a baby, but on the day of check-in, we decided to travel our 4-year-old also. At the reception they were more concerned about charging the supplement for the extra child than about helping. They charged 50€ per night for a 4-year-old child. I presented the values that counted on the Destinia page (inferior), but were uncompromising. I was not informed about the available spaces, check-out or breakfast schedules.
We arrived around 9:30, we ordered dinner (à carte) and they suggested we were served in the entrance hall, indicating that the restaurant was full - when we passed there, more than half of the tables were free.
The restaurant is extremely expensive and the food too spicy.
We asked to leave the boys at the kids club and the youngest (with 2 and a half years old) would have to pay 30€ per Hour.
The indoor pool is heated, but too high and dangerous for children (1.62m).
This lack of courtesy, centred only on wanting to charge the customer, is very uncomfortable and has taken away the charm of the experience, which I really regret, because the hotel has immense amenities: reception gifts for the smallest, water and fruit available, indoor and outdoor pool, differentiated activities for the smallest, farm with interaction with animals and bicycles with child seat for family tours.
At the restaurant, we were very well received by Marcus, who is extremely delicate in the approach to customers.
It could have been a perfect experience, because the potential is immense. But the hotel management is more focused on raising extra costs than on giving tranquility and welcoming the customer.
We will not repeat the experience again.

Lamentamos sinceramente que a sua estadia não tenha correspondido às expectativas, sobretudo num contexto familiar onde o conforto e a tranquilidade são tão importante, a forma como se sentiu no momento da chegada e ao longo da experiência não reflete o cuidado que procuramos ter com cada hóspede.
Relativamente à adição da criança de 4 anos, sendo esta comunicada apenas no momento do check-in, o respetivo suplemento teria necessariamente de ser aplicado nessa altura, de acordo com as condições da reserva, ainda assim, compreendemos que a forma como esta situação é comunicada faz toda a diferença e iremos reforçar esse cuidado junto da equipa.
Quanto ao kids club, todas as crianças com menos de 4 anos deverão permanecer acompanhadas por um adulto, sempre que tal não acontece, o serviço passa a ser considerado babysitting, sendo aplicado o valor correspondente de 30€ por hora.
Tomámos também nota dos restantes pontos que partilha, que serão analisados internamente com a equipa, de forma a melhorar a consistência do serviço e da comunicação.

Absolutely to be avoided.

Avoid this place at all costs; it is overpriced, the service is absolutely terrible, the food is disgusting, and the management does not care that their hotel is poorly maintained and managed.

Price too expensive for the service...

The hotel facilities and surrounding space are indeed very pleasant and welcoming. However, I feel obligated to report my profound dissatisfaction with the restaurant service.
Over six meals, the experience was consistently negative. Despite the sympathy of the team, the lack of training is obvious: the orders arrived incomplete and the dirty dish remained on the table while the new dishes were served.
The most critical and serious issue is food safety. The menu announces allergy options that are not met in practice. I was served a Sericaia with lactose, when the dish is advertised as being "gluten-free and lactose-free". This negligence is very serious and puts the health of customers at risk. I hope that they will take immediate action to correct these shortcomings.
The Turkish bath didn't work.

É bom saber que desfrutou do espaço e da envolvência da herdade, mas lamentamos sinceramente que o serviço de restauração tenha condicionado de forma tão negativa a estadia.
Percebemos o que refere relativamente ao acompanhamento de mesa e à dinâmica do serviço. A simpatia da equipa é importante, mas tem de vir acompanhada de consistência e atenção ao detalhe, e é algo que vamos rever internamente.
Relativamente à questão dos alergénios, compreendemos totalmente a gravidade da situação descrita. É um tema que levamos muito a sério e que exige total rigor da nossa parte. O facto de lhe ter sido servido um prato que não correspondia à informação apresentada no menu não está de todo alinhado com os nossos padrões, e iremos reforçar imediatamente os procedimentos e validações associados a este tema junto das equipas.
Tomámos também nota da situação do banho turco.
