A gem, good price , great place

Bad stay
There is no parking for the exclusive use of the hotel, you park in the street but you must be lucky to find a place. In the area, however, there are no parking fees.
There is no elevator, so your luggage must be carried up by hand.
There is no air conditioning, in the room I only found a fan.
The room is small and even with the window open the air does not turn.
Bathroom equally small and without window.
The room was quite dirty and a bit decadent (see photo).
The next day they didn't come to clean and change towels and sheets.
Bad stay, fortunately I only had to sleep there 2 nights.

Dilapidated hotel
Arrived we discovered that it was a 1-star hotel, there is no air conditioning we arrived in the evening and there was a suffocating heat, dilapidated bathroom fortunately we stayed only one night. From the photos you can see how the hotel entrance looks.

Faro accommodation
Comparing with my other accommodation, this was a basic motel. We had a bottle of water in the room. No AC, just a fan. Was near to the center and port. The reception staff were nice and always smiling. For the money we paid , was ok. We stayed only a night so that's why was ok, not sure if I would stay more days, Faro is a small city so one day here I believe is more than enough.

BE CAREFUL before booking, DON'T BE FOOLED! I know what I'm talking about!
The truth is that I had not planned to spend a single minute on this shabby hostel, neither it nor its owner, but reading the booking reviews, they seem outrageous to me! First of all, I'm not going to say anything about how extremely dirty this place is (cockroaches, bugs, the smell of sewer and dust to stop a train).
I'll share my experience: I booked a weekend, I called the accommodation to ask if they preferred me to book directly with them or with booking, since I have a hotel and I know how commissions work. The boss himself tells me no, I should book through booking.
It's not clear to me how to book on their page, I explain what I want (come on, we were 2 people and I want 2 beds) and they tell me yes, the option I marked in booking is the correct one, ok.
We arrive at the hostel, I make the payment to the girl who was previously ironing sheets at the entrance and she tells me that I have to pay a fee, okay I make the payment but I'm missing €2 and she didn't have change. He tells me, change and then when you come back from walking you pay me the rest. Perfect.
We arrive at night and I go to reception to pay him the €2 that I owed him, but what is my surprise? Well, a person sitting on a sofa catches my attention by telling me that I only paid for one night in a hotel, not 2 (all of this without getting up and looking at me with a contempt in which it was perceived that a woman could not speak to him like that). Since I am Galician and due to proximity we work with Portuguese clientele in my hotel, I can handle the language fairly well.
I told him that I had spoken directly with him, that he should tell me that the reservation was perfect and that I should not worry about anything.
In a very bad way he told me to pay him for one more night, since I had only paid for 2 nights for a single person (something I did not understand because we had two beds in my room when according to him I would only go alone and obviously something that I refused because he made a mistake with the reservation, not me). He told me that then he would not refund my money and that I should settle with booking.
At this point and as I mentioned, I WORK WITH BOOKING AND I KNOW THE CONDITIONS, I explained to him that I was not a client who did not know what the issue was about, that he should return the corresponding money if he did not want me to file a claim directly with him. booking.
Seeing that I knew how things worked, he decided to refund the money but reluctantly (of course I went to another hotel).
TO THOSE WHO CAN READ ME, DON'T BE FOOLED THAT THE ONE WHO RETURNED THE MONEY IS BOOKING!! Booking is a mere operator that charges a commission for sending people to the hotel, but IT IS NEVER THE ONE IN CHARGE OF RETURNING THE MONEY TO A GUEST!! THAT DEPENDS ON THE HOTEL AND IF THEY RETURN IT TO YOU, REPORT THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE STEALING FROM YOU!! No matter how many conditions they put on their pages, it is illegal (and if they still refuse to give you your money, ask them for the claim form, you will see how they give you the money instantly).
FACT: I find it funny when this man responds to the comments that are written to him (look at his responses in booking because it is exactly what it is) saying "then go to a 5-star hotel", no sir, even if it is a hostel, the cleanliness It is MANDATORY! It's not worth it if you want cleanliness or something nice, go somewhere else!
