Fantastic and vibrant atmosphere!

Great stay at Moxy Lisbon! The staff were welcoming and attentive throughout. The food was fresh and delicious with good variety. We especially grew fond of one server who was very attentive and made our experience even better. Fun, modern atmosphere—would definitely return!

We had a nice stay at Moxy Lisbon. The hotel is very clean, and as always with Moxy, the experience is fun and welcoming. That said, compared with other Moxy hotels we’ve stayed at before, this one felt a little less impressive in terms of design and overall space. The pool is a great amenity, especially for families, but there are only a few chairs available and the pool area feels quite limited in size, so it can get crowded quickly. The breakfast was good overall, but we had an issue with the kids’ breakfast policy. The staff initially told us that children below 12 eat free and would not include our 12-year-old. As Marriott Bonvoy members, we know the policy applies to children 12 and under, not only under 12. We had to look up the policy and show it to the staff before it was accepted. This seemed to be a misunderstanding from one team member, as the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. A great nice touch is the two complimentary drinks offered at check-in. The team was friendly, smiling, and always in a good mood, which made the stay enjoyable. The location is excellent. It’s not in the middle of the old town, but it’s a great family-friendly area with easy access to what you need. Overall, a good stay with a few areas that could be improved.

Cool place, good location to commercial area

Good location for the commercial end of the city, right next to the train station, which some colleagues heard but I didn’t. I have stayed here twice, both with large corporate groups of us. It’s walking distance to the MEO arena which was perfect for us . Some rooms have 2 single beds some have 1 double, both are nice. They’re compact but do have everything you need. The staff there are nice and good behind the bar, the breakfast is a buffet style, but does the job fine! There is plenty of seating inside and out. The moxy is a cool place and it lives up to that!

A Let-Down

While the price was reasonable for central Lisbon and the walking distance to places around the Praça do Marquês de Pombal (El Corte Inglés, Parque Eduardo VII, Avenida da Liberdade, as well as the associated subways) was convenient, the accommodations were disappointing and not what I expected of a Marriott property. The room had a view over a parking lot with hanging laundry. Within the room, lighting was minimal, making it difficult to navigate from spot to spot at night, while by day, there were no tables to lay a bag or a book on, and there was not even a coffee maker to wake up to. The lobby was always busy--in a nice, friendly way--but the atmosphere was that of a youth hostel, not of a downtown hotel. Again, if cost is the central consideration--and there is no question that that is important--Moxy Lisbon City will do. But to come away with a pleasant memory of your time in an otherwise beautiful city, Moxy Lisbon City is not the choice that I would make.

Very poor experience

As a Platinum Elite member for 13 years nearing 600 nights stayed, I can honestly say this was the worst Marriott in which I have ever stayed. Overall, the staff were average to poor in their friendliness and attentiveness. The breakfast and food were definitely far below average and the rooms very small. I had asked for an upgrade at check in and was told there was none available but found out after we had checked in and unpacked that there actually were larger rooms available. There was also a broken glass in the room that took them two days to replace and a disgusting dark coloured substance on the bed. They offered 500 points, nothing else. I will not be coming back here and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Very overpriced for an underwhelming stay.

The room allocated was the category reserved, with the room size and amenities accurately reflected in the description provided on Marriott.com at the time of booking. While no larger family rooms were available upon your arrival, due to the hotel being fully occupied, a larger room became available later as a result of a cancellation and was offered as an alternative accommodation.
With regard to the cleanliness concerns mentioned, please be assured that these are among our highest priorities. As part of our standard procedures, every guest room is inspected by two team members, including a housekeeping supervisor, prior to arrival to ensure that our cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
When your concerns were brought to our attention, our team arranged for housekeeping to attend the room promptly. However, access was not possible at that time due to the Do Not Disturb sign displayed on the door. To ensure we could still assist, a member of our team contacted you directly via chat and advised that housekeeping could attend the room should you wish. Once access to the room became available, the room was serviced, inspected, and the reported concerns were addressed.
We understand how important a comfortable and seamless stay is, particularly for our loyal Marriott Bonvoy members, and we are truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. Creating a welcoming environment where our guests feel genuinely at home has always been, and will continue to be, our foremost priority. We are grateful for your feedback and for the opportunity to review and reflect on the concerns raised.
