the worst hotel experiences
The most serious issue was the lack of integrity and safety concerns regarding the airport transfer arranged by the hotel. We had an early morning flight and specifically asked the hotel to arrange a reliable taxi. The hotel repeatedly confirmed the price as 160 BOB, but when the driver arrived, he demanded 200 BOB and refused to drive otherwise. Given the urgency of catching our flight, we had no choice but to accept.
Even worse, during the ride, the driver claimed there was a roadblock and abandoned us halfway without offering any solution or assistance. In a foreign city, early in the morning, we were forced to walk and find another vehicle ourselves. This situation was extremely stressful and we almost missed our flight. This is not just unprofessional—it is a serious safety concern.
In addition, the hotel demonstrated a consistent lack of honesty:
• We were initially told that drinking water could be requested from the front desk, but later informed that only one bottle per person per day is allowed, with extra charges applied
• We were told that in-room dining offers a more extensive menu, but in reality, it was the same menu with additional service fees
Furthermore, the hotel’s claim of offering English-speaking service is misleading. While they advertise English support on multiple platforms, the front desk staff’s English proficiency is very limited, making communication difficult and significantly affecting the overall experience.
There were also significant issues with the facilities:
• On the first day, the curtain fell off completely and nearly hit us, posing a clear safety hazard
• The room had extremely poor soundproofing, with constant noise disturbance
Overall, this hotel shows poor management, lack of transparency, and serious safety issues. I genuinely cannot understand how it is rated as a five-star property. Strongly not recommended.

Regarding the airport transfer, we would like to explain that the service was arranged with an independent taxi provider, not directly operated by the hotel. On March 25 and 26, our city of La Paz experienced a total public transportation strike, with multiple road blockades across the city. This situation severely affected mobility for all residents and, in particular, for guests needing to reach the airport. Unfortunately, we have no control over the pricing applied by independent drivers, and we sincerely regret that the driver did not respect the agreed fare and that this situation caused you such distress.
Concerning the room facilities, please be assured that we carry out regular maintenance of all our installations. Our maintenance team is always available to promptly address any issues that may arise. We were not informed of the curtain incident during your stay; however, we take this matter very seriously and will thoroughly review it to ensure it does not happen again.
Regarding in-room dining, please note that, in accordance with our hotel policies, a service charge is usually applied. However, in your case, this charge was not applied. That said, we recognize that the service you received—particularly in the restaurant—was not up to standard. We understand that the language barrier made communication difficult and led to the inconvenience of having to go down to place your order. We sincerely apologize for this and would like to reaffirm our commitment to improving the English proficiency of our team, as we fully understand that this is a key aspect of service in a hotel of our category.
Once again, we deeply regret that we did not meet your expectations. Please be assured that we are committed to addressing these shortcomings and continuously improving our service. We truly hope you will give us another opportunity to restore your confidence in us during a future visit.
