Let's go straight to the point: you choose to go to Abadiania as part of a spiritual journey, right? You'll travel a long distance to visit this place on pursuit of a deeper connection, cure, healing, self awareness or as a meditation/retreat. You also know that Abadiania is a very small town with basic resources and options.
So when it comes to accommodation, the Pousada Irmao Sol Irma Lua is a probably the best option in town.
With basic, simple rooms with no tv (yay! You'll take the time to look inside yourself and read spiritual books hopefully), private bathroom, no air conditioning but a great atmosphere. The pousada has a beautiful garden, heartwarming food served daily, mostly with veggies and fruits (non-vegetarian options always available for those who eat meat) and simple but good breakfast. A meditation room awaits for you as well as a lovely staff willing to help.
The pousada is a around 10-20 min walking distance to the Casa but if you don't want/can't walk, there're always taxis outside to take you everywhere in town on a fixed price of $ 10 reais.
The pousada can also arrange airport pick up for you and organize trips to the neighboring places such as Pirinopolis, with its beautiful waterfalls.
The area around the pousada has great options such as a a beautiful and charming Cafe, a natural Ayurveda spa, both that I've visited and highly recommend.

I stayed at this Pousada for two weeks in the past I have stayed at Rei Davi. It has pros and cons. The pros are that is has a constant stream of people coming and going this is good if you are without a guide and group as you never feel alone. It's has a lovely dining area, with garden and a waterfall. I enjoyed the food and social space. It was very clean and nicely decorated. I also liked the TV lounge area out the back for comfort and privacy. Enjoy the Orange cake for breakfast and lovely treats they make for dessert. Staff are very accommodating and I enjoyed the variety of food. But where were the avocados?
The Cons are noise! The typical Aluminum doors and shutters do little to block out the noise from other rooms and the central dining area. This was frustrating for me. Rei Davi was better for peace and quiet with upstairs rooms and downstairs dining. The hammocks here are not positioned in good places to relax. It's a long walk to the Casa.
The bedrooms are standard Pousada rooms. Nice large shower though.
I would stay there again but take heavy duty ear plugs and a mattress protector.

Great experience
We absolutely loved the atmosphere in this pousada. Beautiful garden, meditation room, fish pond...The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my son's special diet requirements. The food is freshly made every day with lots of options. We highly recommend it.

Good food, can be noisy
This is a very nicely kept up pousada, with lots of tours coming through from all over the world.
The food was very good, and we never had problems running out as some others had noted. It would be nice if they had breakfast, or at least coffee available on Casa days, where folks are getting up earlier.
For the first part of my stay I was in a room behind the purple wall across the street. It was very noisy, and simple as compared to the much nicer room in Namaste that I was moved to.
It is a bit of a walk from the Casa, and the tour guides recommend that you take taxis rather than walk for 7 days after your intervention. So, that needs to be taken into account with your budgeting.
Roosters are plentiful here, so if you are light sleeper, please take that into consideration.
Folks, please keep chatting in your rooms to a minimum at night--others can hear every word, and are there to heal from interventions, current, and the whole John of God experience, not listen to chit-chat.

Brother Sun, Sister Moon – Abadiania’s Upscale Accommodations
If you’re looking for Abadiânia’s more upscale accommodations then you may want to consider this pousada with its sprawling buildings and adjoining property, Namaste. You’ll be surrounded with more comfort and amenities, however, it’s one of the most expensive and are the farthest pousadas from The Casa located back at the end of a side street toward the highway. Take a look at Eat Pray Stay Abadiânia for all the comprehensive details. This pousada has a pool a nice grassy courtyard and is the place where most American tours stay. It is the farthest from the Casa so if walking is an issue for you please note that you will have to hire taxi to go back and forth to The Casa. Have a blessed journey, LeeZa Donatella
