Incredible experience

I love staying at Matilda! The location is perfect, the beds are great, bed linen impeccable, the shower is wonderful, has a super good kitchen. But the best of Matilda are the people you know and the exceptional care of those who work there, especially Matthew! Whenever I go to Curitiba, I book a day for this hostel. I feel at home there, not to mention that it is a square from the Feirinha do Largo of the Order, the Bar do Alemão, Memorial de Curitiba, Cinema tour, Shopping Müller, Public Walk...It is worth knowing Matilda!

Worst hostel in Brazil

It was the worst experience I ever had. I was badly received by a lady named manager. I had made a combination with the receptionist of the night but she approached me aggressively and offensively early in the morning, making blatant accusations and breaking the deal she had made with the employee the night before. I cried a lot of so threatened that I went and then I went to register the BO at the police station (in attachment to prove the truth of the facts). Run away from this place that treats tourists with deboche and humiliation.

Best possible location

A hostel in an old and well-kept property, with an excellent location, a quarter from the historic center of the city. Perfect for independent travelers, even though rooms with windows to the street can be noisy for those who have light sleep. But the facilities are excellent.

Very difficult to sleep

The location of Hostel Matilda was the factor that made me choose the place to stay one night and was also the reason for my dissatisfaction. The reception from the employee was lukewarm but I received satisfactory explanations. The smell at the reception, which was along with the kitchen and lunch/dinner table, was strange when I arrived. The bathroom and bedroom were clean, spacious and organized. However, the room I received is right on the corner of Treze de Maio and Mateus Leme and, as I did not pay attention to this detail before making the reservation, the proximity to the street is very great, Treze de Maio is very busy during the night and in short: I couldn't sleep, I spent the night awake as I had a test the next day. The impetus to save was greater because the value for money is good but it wasn't worth it and I hope this review serves as a warning for other people to be aware that they won't sleep well or even be able to sleep at Hostel Matilda. Unless the reason for the trip is tourism or party. I wouldn't go back.

My Home Away From Home

I love this Hostel. Really one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. The people were instant friends ( nahla ) and very helpful in figuring out the best way to explore the city. The beds were very comfortable and clean and the breakfast is highly recommended.
