Beautiful place, great hospitality
We stayed in pousada Jatoba for five days, enough to explore beautiful Paraty and its surroundings. The pousada has an own beach, and Ana serves the best breakfast ever! Paraty has a beautiful historical centre, and there are many quiet and clean beaches.

Incredible
We recently stayed at Pousada Enseada do Jatoba for 10 days and more importantly held our wedding in their gardens. Beth and Juno are incredible hosts and they both went over and above to ensure that we enjoyed our stay and that our wedding went off without a hitch. The Pousada is located in the forest in a small bay 5 kilometer’s from Paraty. It’s an old colonial property that embraces the nature of its location. We saw monkey’s and some of the most incredible bird life. The accommodation is comfortable and portrays the style and location of the property. The breakfast, especially the eggs, were excellent and we certainly didn’t leave the table hungry. Last, but not least, what an extra special location for a wedding. We will always have extra special memories of our wedding, the gardens, the bay and the incredible location. The Pousada, Beth, Junior, Joao (Gardner) and all of their team made sure that it was just an incredible day that we will both remember for the rest of our lives. Thanks to all of you for helping to make our special occasion that little bit extra memorable. We can’t wait to see you all again. Clive and Rosa, London

Staying at Pousada Enseada do Jatobá is an unique, magic and wonderful experience.
Built in the early 19th century using the composite building material wattle and daub, this grand house turned into pousada preserves the original architecture of the colonial period.
The owner, Beth Bandeira, runs the pousada with passion, care and grace. Upon arrival, Beth and her partner Júnior make you feel at home, immediately.
Breakfast is served in a room with stunning views to the property's private beach below, and beyond. The beach area with its jetty is a perfect spot to unwind and wonder. It is easily accessible from the house by walking down a gentle slope through tropical gardens.
The beautiful Jatobá tree, from each the pousada's name derives, stands tall in front of the house's main lounge. A plunge in the pool next to it is a refreshing bliss in a hot and humid day.
The pousada is only 4 Km from historical Paraty and its main surrounding attractions.

Don't tell anybody; this place is amazing!
Sometimes you should not write a review about a place to keep it as it its; just perfect and beautiful. This Pousada is one of a kind. The owners are very, very kind and not only give you a warm welcome, they really care about you during your stay. If you like diner, Beth, the owner, will cook some delicious fish in a very tasteful sauce.
The rooms are nice (not luxurious), we booked a family room; two separate bedrooms (one pretty small but comfortable) with a bathroom in between. This is perfect if you are traveling with kids and a small door separates the both rooms from the rest of the building. Both rooms have air conditioning ( march 2016). The rooms are cleaned and towels are changed everyday!
But the main attraction is the wonderful place itself, with a shared living, library and breakfast room. Every stone in this building remembers you about his history (+200 years old) The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. You will see many birds, little monkeys and enjoy the flowers and butterfly's .
The pool is very clean and decorated with beautiful tiles. And if you stroll down to the sea you have some very nice beds to relax and enjoy the view and tides. Our children really enjoyed feeding the little monkeys banana's and jumping in the pool and walking the muddy beach at low tide.
The place is just a few meters from the main road to Paraty but besides public transport on the main road you will need a car to easily get to Paraty ( about 10 min. drive). For us it was just perfect; a tranquil place just a short ride from this touristic town.
The breakfast is very good and made of fresh baked cake, bread, juices, fruit, etc. with everyday variation. Beside this breakfast they only serve diner if you arrange it with Beth a day before. It would have been nice to have the possibility to buy some drinks / juices ( other than softdrinks/beer) during the day or to order some little snacks because at this time I advice you to go out to Paraty and take some with you.
But the owners let us use their kitchen to prepare some food we bought ourselves for lunch.
We only regret staying just 3 nights, this is a place to stay for weeks and write a book....

Blissfully beautiful!
This must be one of the most beautiful guest houses I've ever stayed in. Beth is a gracious host, the setting is just gorgeous in the forest on the edge of a private beach. Delicious food. Close to Paraty. What more could you want?!
