Very good hotel!!!

My stay in Barra was short of only 3 nights, very good care from the reception staff. And dining. Super comfortable room, very good cleaning. One night I had dinner at the hotel, exquisite shrimp risotto. Full international and variety breakfast. Very good location close to the beach, stall 3. More than recommended. In the season I went I had no problems with the elevator.

Not worth it

The staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. When I asked about extending my stay, the receptionist claimed the hotel was fully booked without checking, even though rooms were available online. We were also overcharged for water, and when questioned, the staff pretended not to understand English.
The hotel is very old and poorly maintained. The room was dark, not clean, and had no complimentary water. The bathroom had drainage problems, mould, and broken shower fixtures.
Breakfast was basic and disappointing.
Overall, apart from the location, it was not worth the money.
The only pro is the location.

Not my preferred stay for Barra

Stayed here for only two nights with work. Arrived late evening for check-in. Found the reception staff not very friendly or welcoming. Check-in was so slow. Experience for the two days with staff remained the same, cold. Cleanliness was good overall and rooms were a good size. Breakfast was the usual but relatively sparse. I've stayed in a few very nearby hotels so this won't be my first choice again.

Garments were taken from the room

Two clothes were taken from the room. The Hotel never responded to my written claims. Initially I informed the reception of the situation, but they told me that they should inspect all my luggage to determine that the two clothes were not there.

On the plus side the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The buffet breakfast was excellent, really top quality breakfast. On the downside there was no tea/coffee making facility in the room. Had to pay for a bottle of still water on check out. Nearly every other hotel I stay in would have complimentary water. The staff at the pool bar were not very friendly at all (maybe we caught them on a bad couple of days).
