A quiet, clean, small and cute hotel in an area called Cabacon. Half an hour's walk from Golden Sands
Despite the things I read about Halon, I was pleasantly surprised.
The maid cleaned and arranged the room every day. The hotel was clean and quiet.
The breakfast was delicious.
At the Journalist Hotel, a 3-minute walk from the hotel ............. ...,...........

Not royal and not beach.
The location is very far from center.
It is a drive to there about 15-20 min (by car).
But this is small thing after we got the first room. It was dirty. The bed i order large king size , they just gave 2 close single bads...
In the second room: the sheets of the bad was dirty and full os stains, with cigarette ash
on it and something look like blood.
The water in the shower dose not drains well and flooding the bathroom with water.
Towels are not smell good.
Nothing good hear

Beautiful
We spent great time here...clean, nice, great staff, 5 min from the beach, music all the time, really great!!! Room really nice and tidy, big balcony and nice view.

The hotel does not deserve 3 stars
Don't get mistaken by the name there is no beach next to the hotel. The nearest beach is 200 meters away, you have to walk thorough residential complex to get to it and it's very narrow and rocky. The guest prefer to go to the Kabakum beach which is 750 meters away. Avoid getting Full Board you'll be better off eating out as per meal you pay 8 euros per person. The lunch and the dinner were repetetive (a la carte), you could have soup of the day or choose a salad instead, main course narrows to chicken bites, sausage, kofta, scrambled eggs, omelette or cheese by choice, for dessert ice cream, fruit salad, water melon or pancakes. But been told the Chef doesn't feel like making any pancakes because it takes a lot of time. You can use the pool from 8:00 till 18:00 after that is No swimming area. Parking spaces inside the hotel were only few and some of the guest had to park their cars on the road outside the barrier. Rooms need refreshing, loose scurting boards missing mirrors and shaving/hair drier units, old curtains and not to miss the spider webs. Been to loads of 3 star hotel and this one doesn't feel like one.

Better end of 'budget hotel' away from the Golden Sands/Varna Beach area
This is a developing area, very much still eastern Europe that's trying hard to deliver standards that western Europeans may be more used to in touristy resorts in the Med, or high end Turkey or Greece.
Visitors to south-east Asia will finding nothing to shock, visitors used to the western Med will find this "poor" both area and the hotel. Its mid-range budge wise, I needed to be in the locality for the university a short walk away up the hill.
Yes the hotel is very basic by northern and western standards, but the staff try hard to please, it is no frills and get a room with balcony and you'll catch the Black Sea, which makes up for the occasional cleaniness 'oversight'.
A room with a bath is good, but be aware there's no shower curtains - so take care not to flood the bathroom.
Wifi is free but poor once you're out of the main lobby area, you *may* get a signal on the first floor, but by the second or third floors, you'll have to move about on the balcony may be.
