Disappointing Reception Experience – Unprofessional and Unfriendly Service
Unfortunately, my experience with the reception team at Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk was very disappointing and far below the standard I would expect from a luxury hotel.
The reception staff came across as unprofessional, unfriendly, and unwelcoming. The manner in which I was treated made me feel that my requests and concerns were more of an inconvenience than something the hotel should be assisting with. There was a noticeable lack of courtesy, warmth, and willingness to help.
For a five-star property, the reception is the first and most important point of contact with guests, and this type of attitude can seriously affect the overall impression of the hotel. Good facilities and a beautiful property cannot compensate for poor guest service.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and provides the reception team with appropriate training on professionalism, communication, and guest relations. Guests should be made to feel welcomed and respected from the moment they arrive.
I expected much better from Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk and, unfortunately, this experience fell well short of the standard expected from a luxury Sofitel property.
I can also make it much stronger and more damaging as a Google/TripAdvisor review, while keeping it factual and legally safe.

LOCCITANE SPA AT THE OBELISK A TRULY 5*****STAR

I had an unforgettable experience at Sofitel Spa with L'Occitane at Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk, and the exceptional service from Ricky, the spa receptionist, made all the difference. He greeted me with genuine warmth, handled every detail with professionalism, and ensured my visit was smooth from start to finish. His friendly personality, attentiveness, and commitment to guest satisfaction truly reflect the highest standards of hospitality. Ricky is a real asset to the team and deserves special recognition.
I would also like to commend Dwi, Ayu, Artati, and Ravi for their outstanding treatments, Buda and Nasir for keeping the spa facilities immaculate, Rip, Manoj, and B.B.S. for maintaining a safe and welcoming pool environment, and Maria, Anna and Mohammed for their excellent service at the fitness reception.
This spa offers a truly relaxing and luxurious experience, supported by a team that genuinely cares about its guests. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return.

Family trip to Sofitel obelisk
Everyone was so lovely and welcoming to us and everyone around us. The staff always helped us with our bags and asked us about how we are and always greeted us with good morning/afternoon/evening and it made us feel like one big family.
