nice weekend

hey there,
stayed here last weekend in the big room with the big bed and the big tub...
it was great!
breakfast was do what ya want! i loved it!
i got in late friday night and bought some food, cooked it, went up to room and ate like a king!
owners are awesome and really laid back, easy to talk to and have some great stories!
I will be back... soon.

Quick stay in Prince Rupert

I can’t write a review for this exact location as they overbooked it and they moved us to another location which was totally fine! The Fisherman’s cabin was beautiful. Such a cool space. Fairly clean, but very cozy. The only issue was with the heat- the heat was NOT turned on when we arrived after a long drive with a toddler(and it was freezing temperatures outside). The floors were absolutely freezing.. it was a bit disappointing but we made it work.. thankfully we had a heating pad to keep us warm in the bed and that is where we spent all of our time. By morning it was warm enough in the rest of the space. The Wifi was pretty slow, it worked for basic things- not really for streaming. Parking right in front of the building was great. If you are staying in the bottom suite and arriving in the dark, be careful going down the stairs- there are no lights for the stairs. There is also no house manual, so some things I had to guess on. Other than those issues, the bed was fairly comfortable and the shower was amazing. There was not much sympathy from the owners regarding the heat not being turned on- it honestly felt like because they were busy with the overbooking situation that we were just stuck somewhere else and forgot about. They did offer to bring over a space heater but it was late and we were really tired- but really, at the end of the day, if there was a guest checking into an accommodation that day- the heat should have been turned on.. if the heat had been on, it would have been the perfect stay. Unfortunately, we will not be staying here again.

This bnb is run by nice people. That said, many things are left out of the “description.” The bathroom, while “private,” is down the hall. Be sure to pack your own robe.
The room walls and doors are paper thin, so know you are going to hear every time the neighbor gets up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, etc. This is literally renting a bedroom in a large house. If you are looking for a weekend getaway, keep looking.

Eagle Close - excellent hosts

We arrived much earlier than expected and had asked beforehand if we could leave our bags. Baljeet however had made every effort to get our room ready and we were able to get access to our room immediately.
With trains arriving late and ferries departing early, it made sense to make your own breakfast and access to the kitchen was welcoming. Others have said that they felt they were intruding on the owner’s space but this is not how you were made to feel.
You are a little way out of town but the walk in is a great way to stretch the legs and there are buses that stop a short distance away if you want.
The fact that the owners go out of their way to be as helpful as possible is what makes Eagle Close an excellent choice. You would not find this type of service in an hotel and many B&Bs would not be so accommodating.

Great stay

This is a very large, well kept house with great hosts. We had a very comfortable queen suite with our own bathroom. Full use of the kitchen and barbecue if required. It’s a bit of a walk to the main restaurants but not a big deal. Lots of parking. I will warn that if you’re looking for a modern hotel feel with no interaction with hosts or other guests, then this may not be the place for you. We will definitely stay here again if we come back; after only two nights, the hosts feel like friends!
