Excellent location
We were 2 couples sharing this fun, funky, well priced apartment which is in an excellent location for exploring St. John's wonderful downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The decore was interesting.

Executive Downtown Suite? No.
For anyone who relies on reviews to guide decisions for purchasing products or services, I offer you a candid description of what my girlfriends and I experienced when we stayed August 2-3, 2021. This place can also be found as "Executive Downtown Suites" on various search engines and, as noted in the description, can be rented as 5 - 3 or 2 beds. My girlfriends and I booked a two-bedroom penthouse at just over $300 plus an extra $40 hot tub fee on a Monday, so our expectations were rather high.
Throughout the booking process, host communication was prompt. However, I was taken aback when advised the “normal” check-out time was 10:30am and not 11:00am, as advertised. In the end, the host agreed to the advertised check-out time.
The view was stunning. Though, contrary to what property photos show, the hot tub has been moved to the opposite side of the deck and no longer has a direct view of the narrows. Also, the window view is obstructed by condensation between the window panes, which obscures the bottom half of the large picture window; no one can sit and enjoy it.
The deck is decrepit. No longer the lovely, well-maintained deck you see in the property photos. Some of the lumber was replaced, but was not re-stained. So, aesthetically, it wasn’t an incredibly inviting or pleasing area to spend time in. The hot tub cover, previously damaged, was repaired with red Tuck tape. Frankly, it looked atrocious and certainly could have been mended with something a little less obvious. I understand covers can get damaged in use and I really do appreciate that it was repaired and the hot tub available, though the means in which it was repaired degraded the aesthetic value and impacted the hot tub experience. I caution others to bring something quick to slip on their feet when getting out of the hot tub, as rotting wood has loosened grip on some of the nails and their rusty tops will dig into your feet if you walk bare-footed. The deck had old beer bottle caps and other garbage from previous guests, though the rest of the unit was clean.
The master bedroom hosted a comfortable king-sized bed, pillows and sheets. Though, the floors – shiny in the property photos – were speckled with paint and so heavily scratched that the hardwood stain was removed and there were gouges in the wood; it was far beyond regular wear and tear. There is a portable a/c unit, vented through a window next to the bed. We were very thankful for it, since this property can become quite warm with morning sun. Unfortunately, it appears there have been some leaks around the window, as the blinds that cover it are stained brown by the various times they have gotten wet and have dried.
The only bathroom within the 2-bed unit option is located off the master bedroom. This means that others in the same party staying in the 2nd room will either need to use a communal half bathroom a level down or travel through the master to the bathroom. This did not impede our stay but may affect others. The bathroom had a sauna that looked nice, but we didn’t attempt to use it. The amount of towels and other linens available was adequate. Though, such things as a cracked toilet seat mended with scotch tape and used bottles of shampoo and shower gel are not what I would have expected from the property photos or descriptions of “ideal for romantic getaway” or “executive downtown suites” on other platforms.
The kitchenette offered communal sugar and instant coffee, which our group felt was somewhat inappropriate during a pandemic. We didn’t really feel comfortable consuming something that many other guests may have handled. The property description described ice and water as available in a side-by-side fridge. However, we could not get ice from the dispenser. The only way to access the ice was to reach into the bucket of ice cubes meant to hold the ice for dispensing. If you do not want to use ice that could’ve had someone’s unwashed hands on it, I would suggest you bring your own. The ad also mentioned the kitchenette had a dining table for 4, with dishes and essential cookware. This led us to believe that there would be dishes for our group, especially since the host accepted our request knowing we planned on arriving with 4 in total. While there were 4 plates and plenty of plastic wine glasses and cutlery, unfortunately there were only 3 bowls and two mugs available. The dining table was also located in the 2nd bedroom and not in the kitchenette like the ad states.
The second bedroom had a Murphy bed and perhaps it was intended to be multipurpose? The bed was comfortable, as were the pillows and sheets. The bedroom was air conditioned with an in-window unit. Though, unfortunately, this bedroom had an open light switch with exposed wiring and a hole in the wall the size of a grapefruit.
No doubt, at one time, this space was lovely and well-kept. Though, now, it is in dire need of maintenance and repair and certainly not what we thought we were getting. Had the photos been more accurate, we wouldn’t have ever chosen to stay at this property for the price paid. I strongly encourage the property owner to post pictures that more accurately reflect the current state of this property.

Impeccable!!!
Don’t let the undistinguished exterior deter you. We wondered what we got ourselves into standing outside but were blown away when we stepped into our apartment. Oozes character and elegantly appointed with very current decor. Laundry facilities a bonus. We appreciated the extra elbow room to spread. Prime location to take in all of the treasures of St John’s by foot.

Bon emplacement
Nous avions la suite 302. Belle grandeur d’apt. Si on prend le garage, il y a une sortie au 2e à l’arrière et c’est très court pour arriver au stationnement. Le lit King était très confortable, il y a même une 2e TV dans la chambre. Seul point négatif, il n’y a pas de fenêtres mais c’est très clair grâce aux puits de lumière
