Hotel full of character.

This is a charming antique house that has been turned into a guesthouse. It is a really do-it-yourself operation with no staff. This is okay but not very welcoming. The rooms are quaint and comfortable, but not enough blankets for the cold Newfoundland weather. There is no daily cleaning of the rooms or making of the beds. The continental breakfast is a bit sparse and if there are a lot of guests, you are best served to get to the breakfast room early to have a choice. The best part of the refreshments on offer is the coffee and tea service which is always available: coffee beans, grinder, and French press.
The hotel is close to downtown, but the hill can be a bit of a challenge in bad weather or if you are tired from sightseeing.
There are modern chain hotels near by but if you want something with more character, this is a nice place to stay.

Lovely place to stay in a great location

Lovely hotel in a great location. The home offers great scons and fruit at all hours plus tea and coffee. You can easily walk to downtown for restaurants etc. the entry was seamless even though the owner is off premises. Location, location, location.

Great place to stay!

This small inn is comfortable and has lots of charm. It is conveniently located near the heart of downtown, walking distance from restaurants and points of interest. Jennifer, the proprietor, is very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

You should go there!

Very friendly owners, very helpful. Pastries, croissants, fruits, tea, coffee for breakfast is available in the dining room of the house which is very appreciated. Very well located! We recommend without hesitation.

House with history - Beautifully renovated & decorated

Comfortable, tastefully decorated, and quiet.
We slept GREAT!
High quality bedding, super comfortable bed and pillows.
Next to the historical Government House! A must to walk the grounds, many wedding pictures taken there do take advantage.
Very clean
Fantastic host!!! I didn’t reach out because everything was almost perfect, but the moment I mentioned a small detail - she tended to it immediately!
Great experience!
