Perfect stay in Trois-Pistoles

Beautiful stay at the dark horse hostel in the center of the village! I spent a week here and the bed was very comfortable, large bathroom and kitchen and especially beautiful living space with views of the river and the church! Everything was perfect, warm welcome and good little tapas. Simple, affordable and comfortable!

Mediocre stay

In our opinion, this room is not worth more than $80 per night. We paid $380 for two nights, or $190 per night, and at that price, we minimally expected a comfortable, clean, and safe room, with a private bathroom, air conditioning, blackout curtains, and a decent level of privacy. We are from Quebec City and, for about $190 a night, it is possible to get a room that offers all these elements. The price asked here is therefore completely disproportionate to the quality, comfort, and services offered.
The most concerning thing, however, remains the numerous security issues. We remained stuck inside the room for more than two hours because the door handle was no longer working. Our 4-year-old son even had to urinate in a water bottle, since it was impossible for us to get out.
No emergency number was indicated in the room. I tried calling the hostel's number several times, but no one answered. More than 24 hours after the incident, we still had not received any return call.
My spouse finally managed to take the handle apart using his small pocket knife. A door must be able to open quickly and easily, especially in the event of a fire or any other emergency situation.
Furthermore, the building's main door is not secure. Anyone can enter and leave freely, which is very concerning, especially when traveling with young children. In our opinion, this establishment is not suitable for families.
This situation could have had serious consequences. We sincerely hope that the room door will be checked and repaired immediately, and that measures will be taken to better secure access to the building in order to ensure the safety of future guests.

Not a lot. Service minimal. Shared shower and toilet on the landing. It’s too expensive for 150 dollars a room

Room on the street not isolated very noisy.

We wonder what we paid for as a service at that Award!
