Amazing location! Unfortunately not a great view of the harbour. Breakfast was good! Can get busy. Underground parking was great but will cost you $17 a day. You can park and walk everywhere. Room was clean and bed comfortable.

Ok, but showing age, unexpected water shutoff
We stayed at Bestwestern Plus Inner Harbour Victoria in May. It is a slightly older 6-storey hotel that has been maintained barely keeping up with the BW Plus standing. To their credit, they emailed me a few week before my arrival to inform me that they were paving the driveway to their underground parking lot and I was prepared for the construction lane closure, and a bit of dust and mild inconvenience. Check-in was fast and there were useful maps at the check-in counter. The hotel is located close to the touristy waterfront and was just 10 minute walk from Laurel Point, 20 minute walk from Fisherman’s Wharf where the well-known houseboats and restaurants were and 15 minute walk from the famous Empress Hotel. Our room had a King Bed, sofabed, small kitchenette with stove and microwave and 2 verandahs. Complementary hot and cold breakfast included a wide range of food – pastries, breads, jams & butter, several cereals, sausages, eggs (hardboiled and scrambled), and fruits (bananas, apples). Two gripes I have is (A) the strong “reproofing” odor from the parking area which was very strong and the hotel claimed was harmless, and (B) they shut off the water to all rooms around 11pm without warning to fix something the front-desk said was an emergency and I had only begun showering. It wasn’t turned back on till midnight, when we were already asleep. When I spoke to front desk on check-out, she claimed guests were informed about the water shutoff. I checked my messages – we didn’t receive notification of this. If I were to return to Victoria, I’d probably stay elsewhere.

Although every effort was made to limit disruption during the work, we understand that construction activity and related odors can still affect the overall guest experience. While the materials used by the contractor were confirmed to be safe and compliant, we recognize the smell was unpleasant and impacted your comfort during the stay.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the overnight water interruption. Unfortunately, this was an unexpected emergency repair that required immediate action, with service restored within the hour. As the emergency water shutoff occurred at approximately 11:00 PM, a decision was made not to proactively contact guest rooms out of concern that many may have already been asleep. Any guests who did contact the front desk during the interruption were advised of the situation and offered a follow-up call once water service was restored. Based on your comments, it appears there was a miscommunication at check-out regarding how the emergency repair and resulting water interruption were communicated to guests, as this was an unexpected situation for which advance notice would not have been possible. It appears that in recognition of the frustration and inconvenience caused to you by the emergency repair, a discount was also applied to your stay at the time of departure.

Our stay was for 5 days at the hotel and it was great. The room was clean and nice, the staff in the breakfast room were very accommodating and nice. We also were happy to have secure parking at the facility. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others, the harbour is within walking distance and everything happens there. I will definitely book here again as I enjoy the harbour. We did have a partial harbour view and it was great. As I have a bit of a knee issue I was very happy to see that the pool had a nice step into it and it was easy to get in and out of and the pool area was very nice. The cleaning staff were very nice. It is also a big plus that there is laundry facilities for patrons.

So far nothing but failures
I spent a lot of money to spend four nights here. I’m only on night one and they didn’t have the room stocked with all the amenities. Then in the middle of taking a shower and being fully lathered up the water was shut off. No warning. No phone call or text. So I got to sit with dried soap on my body for an hour before the water came back. Very uncomfortable. Not even one full night and so far not much to praise this place about

Late that evening, we experienced an unexpected plumbing emergency that required the water to be shut off immediately while a plumber completed the necessary repairs. They arrived promptly, and water service was restored within an hour.
As the interruption began around 10:45 p.m., we made the difficult decision not to call every guest room, as we were mindful that many guests may have already been asleep. Guests who contacted the front desk during the outage were advised of the situation and offered a follow-up call once the water service had been restored.
I completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient it would have been to have your shower interrupted without warning, and I am very sorry that this unexpected emergency affected your stay.
I am also sorry to hear your room was missing amenities upon arrival. That is certainly not the standard we strive for, and our front desk would have been happy to provide any missing items had we been made aware.
