Perfect.

Travelling from Scotland to Churchill, Manitoba for photography I had opted to take the Via Rail train service from Winnipeg to Churchill so scheduled my arrival in Winnipeg for a few days before my train was due so as to make sure any delays getting to Canada didn’t mean missing it.
I opted to stay here because it was ideally located for the airport and only about 4 miles to city centre. Perfectly walkable although there are areas of downtown best not walked through, and there is a bus service which passes by the end of the street, running to The Forks from the airport (and return).
Reception staff were very friendly and polite on arrival. Check in was smooth and my room was very spacious and comfortable.
Bed was huge for one person, sheets were fresh and clean. Coffee maker, tea bags, microwave and fridge in room along with large flat screen cable tv.
Bathroom was very clean and the shower was excellent.
Breakfast was available from 0630 to 1000 week days and 0700 to 1000 weekends and offered a reasonable variety including toast, waffles, oatmeal, fresh fruits, cereals, fruit juices, muffins and cooked options (bacon, eggs, fritters etc.)
There is also coffee available in the reception area opposite the breakfast room, from 0500 to 2100 each day.
The property is well covered by security cameras and the entrance door is locked after 2100 hours, with access via card reader (your room key is a swipe card). 24 hour reception.
Parking available to the front and rear of the premises.
Check out was also very straightforward and I stayed here again on my return from Churchill. My train was delayed and the hotel was happy to accommodate my late arrival back in Winnipeg (after midnight).
Check out was plain sailing again and reception staff were super friendly and accommodating. They ordered a taxi for my trip to the airport (unicity). It was at the front door within a couple of minutes and the trip took less than 5!
The airport is perfectly walkable; perhaps 15 minutes if you don’t have a lot of luggage but the taxi was only $7.
Great location. Quiet. Great staff. Clean.
Perhaps not high end luxury but that’s not for me. I wanted a room and minimum hassle and this place delivered and some.
Highly recommend.

The continental breakfast was gone by 730. There were black fly like bugs all over the bathroom. The exterior room door to the parking lot has a bed against it which made it very difficult to use.

The room was clean. The bed was quite soft, to the point it was a bit uncomfortable and pillows were flat. The patio we had in a newly renovated room was incomplete and looked through a chain link fence to a parking lot. Not the hotel’s fault but the people above us were quite loud walking and banging around (maybe their balcony door?) through the night. Sounded like a WWE match and woke us a few times in the night. Staff were pleasant, room was clean and functional. Good for what we needed it for (1 night sleep). Wouldn’t book for a weekend or to take the kids.

I checked in at 1130 pm after a long flight. I had to park in the back as paving was being done in the front. There was entry in the back so I had to drag my luggage past the AC unit in the grass. After my credit card took two times to register, I asked for a room close to the front or elevator. They put me at the end of the hotel. Once in the room, I counted 9 insect traps on the floor. I checked out the next morning instead of staying the duration.

Staff was very helpful, extension to another day was met with thoughtfulness.
