Clean, good facilities, relaxed and friendly
We stayed here for 5 nights to explore Isle de Chiloe. The hostel is spotlessly clean everywhere. Great breakfasts and a very chilled out place to relax in after big days exploring. Luis was very friendly and gave us loads of information on the island: where to visit, public buses, places to eat, etc. Great location 4min walk to bus station at the top end of town. Safe and quiet.

Cost and well maintained
We just stayed there for 2 nights and we were lucky to have one of the big rooms upstairs.
-: WiFi does not work well in the room upstairs
+: kitchen is great for cooking, breakfast is delicious, owner very friendly and helped us plan our visit
There are only 2 bathrooms for the entire place. Luckily it was only 5 of us the nights we stayed there but might be not be enough for a full house.
Wold recommend for a stay in Castro.

Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast
We stayed one night in a double room with shared bathroom.
The hostel is located centrally close to the bus terminal and about 10 min walk from the city center.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the community areas comfortable and welcoming. Room and shared bathroom were clean, towels were provided.
Breakfast was included and good with real coffee and fresh cake.
Free WiFi available.
Our room was dark, small and stuffy despite an open window to the backyard. Small double bed. However, other rooms to the front and on the second floor were more spacious, light and comfortable and we payed less for our room.
Two bathrooms for the whole hostel appeared to be insufficient with long waiting times in the morning.

Simple but fair
It's about 5-10 minutes walk from the actual center and located along a rather busy road. Somehow it was still pretty quiet inside though. The shared bathrooms were super clean and the room simple but spacious enough. I think they charge a fair price for it.

Confirm your reservation before you go.
Looking thru these posts, Ii see that others have had the same experience. Here's what happened to us:
We booked 2 nights thru hostelbookers.com and when we showed up, our host did not have any reservation for us. We showed him a printout of our confirmation, but, "sorry". The confirmation showed that we paid $13 for the booking. He did have a room available for our first night, but not the second. The room was very small, with no window - not too appealing. We took it anyway because since there was a big festival in town, and it was a weekend, and late in the day, we thought we would have a hard time finding something else. We looked on several websites and everything seemed to be booked up. We were not too happy thinking that we would have to spend time the next day looking for another place to stay. It turned out that the next day our host told us that another guest had decided to leave a day early, so we could have that room. We moved our stuff out of the dark cupboard and into a nice room on the 1st floor. We were not too impressed with that whole situation, and knowing that it happened to someone else, well, there's no excuse. The host would not reimburse us for the $13 we paid. Said he never received it. Well, someone got it, and we felt ripped off.
Aside from that, the place is clean, in a good location, has decent Wi-Fi, and a nice, well equipped kitchen for guest use. Breakfast was better than average. The host recommended the festival (Costumbrista) which we really enjoyed, and was very knowledgeable about the area. The only downside was the shared bath was shared by 4 rooms - seemed like we were always waiting to use it.
