A very relaxing 3 days enjoying the beautiful views from our cabin and the hotel. Staff were most attentive and helpful.
Excellent 3 day stay. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to get away to a relatively remote location away from the crowds. We would definitely visit again given the opportunity.

A poorly maintained hotel
The ECoHab hotel is poorly maintained. It needs a major restoration.

Beautiful but you have to be a camping lover
Tayrona is very beautiful, it has beautiful beaches, if you are very loving nature, visit it. Since the experience to arrive is a crossing and the stay in the hotel is austere, although already a little modernized, it is still basic. They have internet and light, although these are intermittent. White campsites are lacking maintenance, as although they have a separate tarpaulin roof, due to the humidity of the place and the rains, they already show signs of humidity. Additional that the door locks are already worn. As for the cost of the restaurants everything is double, the hotel’s own restaurant accepts card, thankfully without charging commissions. The other places on the beaches charge a 5% fee which is excessive and they usually ask to pay with cash.

So to start, the staff were mostly good but the negatives outweigh the positives at this hotel. The bathroom was terrible, sink faucet did not work, shower barely ran and the doors etc did not close (most of the wood windows were rotten).
The hammock was a nice touch but was filthy. The cleanliness of the room was ‘ok’ but there were plenty of spots in the room we avoided as it was thick with dust.
Fans in the room didn’t really work and shook over the bed. That’s when it worked…..sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t. Power outages are also a big factor here…
I wasn’t expecting luxury amenities being in the national park, but humidity and heat is such a factor so when power outages happen, the heat is near unbearable. The hotel didn’t offer water (which would have gone a long way). Also meant the entire site was pitch black for long periods with no real communication as to when power would come back.
The proximity to the trail was good and their sister site (which was en route to Cabo San Juan) was a nice commodity when needing bathrooms or refreshments etc.
The beach near the site was nice (lifeguard at the beach was genuinely terrible, seemed to enjoy shouting nonsense at people then laughing) and the amenities *when available* were also good. We had a massage organised at relative short notice (very good). The front staff were also knowledgable.
Views from the room were great (we were ecohab 5) but can be noisy due to proximity to other rooms.

For the price, this place is disappointing. Frequent power outages for hours and hours which means you cannot use a fan, charge phones or even checkout. I had to wait 40 minutes to check out due to a power outage.
The fan in the room is old and peeling, the drain in the bathroom broken and the door didn't lock properly in the bathroom either.
I also found it odd that no water is provided- the expectation is that you buy little bottles of water constantly. It would be far better to have a pitcher in each room each day.
Some rooms have stellar views, others just so so. Ask for a room high up, bring your own water and don't expect too much- even though it's quite expensive.
