Very good address to return to as quickly as possible
We spent several days at Villa La Plantacion.
The hotel with a few rooms is nestled in lush greenery and with a swimming pool. The garden allows you to discover grapefruit, mangoes, passion fruit. There is also an avocado tree, coconut trees, royal palms, traveler’s trees, and many others…
The room is comfortable and very clean with a Queen size bed of excellent comfort, worthy of a 5*, which was a very good surprise with my back pain. My room also had air conditioning and a terrace with a view of the garden and the swimming pool at 29°. There is a very good fiber optic internet connection.
The hotel is very quiet, located 150 m from the beach, 100 meters from the first restaurants. There is the beautiful Playita beach 15 minutes away on foot.
Breakfast is definitely worth the detour with its fresh fruit juice and homemade passion fruit/mango jam which is killer.
Yessenia and Rémi are very welcoming hosts, attentive to their customers, and provide very good advice for excursions and help us organize them.
We were able to board 150 m from the hotel to go see the whales, Playa Fronton and spend a very pleasant day.
The magnificent Playa Rincon is 15 minutes by car.
The quality/price ratio is top notch.

Five stars for the Plantation
The plantation was one of our last stops in the Dominican, wish we had been able to spend more time there. This was an mazing place! We enjoyed really good service, breakfast was the best we had on our entire trip. Occasionally they do dinner as well. It is close to everything. It’s one of those places you won’t forget.

Avoid if you don't want to ruin your holiday!
The accommodation paid the most of the entire holiday and also the worst. In itself acceptable: old furniture, no hot water, the air conditioner not working, some insects in the room, but they are all understandable problems that would not influence such a low rating. The only star (and if I could I would remove that too) is given by the rudeness of the owner who, falsely kind until everything was fine, became verbally aggressive and at times offensive to our requests to fix things, demonstrating an inflexibility bordering on the ridiculous . In a country where everyone has always done their best to help, this was the only place where I found myself highly uncomfortable. Absolutely avoid!

An excellent stay in Las Galeras.
We spent 5 unforgettable days and the friendliness of the boss Rémi had a lot to do with it. And what about breakfasts with extra fruit, eggs, and homemade jam to die for!
We can't wait to come back as soon as possible!

Beware! Read Carefully! Bring cash! Be ready for the owner!
I have been to the Dominican Republic more then 25 times and have traveled the entire country from one end to the other. I have stayed in many resorts, guest houses, Airbnb‘s all over the island. With that said, the listing for this guest house/hotel/hostel is VERY misleading. The pictures on Priceline clearly show an air conditioner in the room. It does not say anywhere in the listing that your room will not have an air conditioner and that you will have to pay an additional fee for a room with an air conditioner. When you see pictures of a room and there is clearly an air conditioner shown, the assumption is that the room will have an air conditioner. BEWARE, no air conditioner and NO screens to leave the doors open at night.
Read ALL of the fine print. And even when you read the fine print when you get to the hotel it is a different story. Upon arrival at the hotel we were told that we were required to pay cash for the entire stay. This is not listed in any part of the reservation. It clearly shows in the reservation that the amount of 50% of the reservation was charged and the other 50% would be due via a bank transfer. This is not the case though. The extremely RUDE owner of this hotel will demand that you pay him in cash. There is NO other way to pay. He claims that he would have to pay too much in tax if he took the money via bank transfer. This has never happened to me before at any hotel in the Dominican Republic. If you say ONE word to the owner, he will huff and puff and follow you around and make your stay miserable. Our bathroom was terrible with sink clogged and broken toilet seat. Slippery floor as water splashes out of the shower everywhere. When I let the owner know that there was no hot water, the man went around and knocked on everyone’s doors and asked them to run the water to see if it was hot. What I was told was that I should let the water run for five minutes and then it will get hot. Whatt?? Ridiculous! We did not want breakfast but ordered coffee. In the middle of drinking our coffee the owner stepped up to the counter and pounded on the counter and in front of everyone said “make sure you know that coffee is a dollar but coffee with milk is $1.50! I was appalled. Don’t stay here! You don’t feel safe with the owner who is clearly a little “off”. There are tons of mosquitoes and no way to get air with no screens. The bathroom doors in the rooms made such loud noise all day and night and were quite bothersome. So many nicer places to stay with owners who will come and offer you fresh fruits from their property and even invite you for FREE coffee. Unless you are French or speak/understand French and can understand what the owner says when he storms around yelling and screaming, DON’T STAY HERE!
