Living close to wildlife and beach

The property is minimalistic, clean and very relaxing, especially after morning beach walks or hiking the falls.
We liked slowing down. We loved the hotel’s GREAT air conditioning, hot water showers and clean minimalist environment. There is ample parking and space to relax with a book or just a nap on the hammocks. I enjoyed my yoga with no tvs for two weeks.
We rented a vehicle from Liberia airport, which was a white knuckle drive for over 4 hours. (Diving in boston is worse, so I was good).
Every morning I drove to the free beach parking to walk the miles of beach or do some yoga each morning.
We’d walk the small town, 2 streets, for breakfast or market for food. There are numerous places to eat that are gluten free.
Montezuma is a safe, young hippy environment. We were glad we brought ant traps and placed them near the entrances.
You gotta zip line there too
We can’t wait to go back.

Vehicle required

We stayed at this establishment for 3 days, the grounds are very well laid out, with a very beautiful swimming pool. The rooms are basic, comfortable bed, with terrace and hammock. The hotel is on the edge of the main road, so very noisy with the quads and motorbikes, which go up a very steep hill and therefore high engine speed. At night, however, there is much less traffic. To get to town for restaurant services, you have to walk 1.1km on the main road with very, very steep hills that go down to get to town, so a 25-minute walk, as for the return, you have to climb the hills with great difficulty. heat, too hard, so you have to take a 3,000cl taxi. This is a hotel where you must have your vehicle. The owner Wolfe is present and kind. I think he would benefit from having a common kitchen.

great stay at three monkeys

We saw the owner at the check in only and that was fine. We knew he was available if needed.
Rooms are spacious and clean with coffee machine, AC and wifi. Very nice and well maintained gardens. Not so far from the center. Only 2000 colones by cab, one way from/to the center. Only point of criticism were the loud neighbours but that is not at all the responsibility of the owners.

Relaxed and easy going

We stayed for 9 nights here. Really didn't want to leave!
Location-out of the main town so quieter, but next to the main road so could be noisy at times. A steep walk downhill to the town but would recommend that you get a taxi back up! Very steep and dangerous to walk up-and no lights in the dark. Cost 2000 colones for taxi-well worth it!
Cabinas-clean and 'did what it said on the tin!'
We borrowed some plates and glasses to prepare breakfast
Hosts-Wolf and Cecelia were friendly and helpful. Not overbearing or interfering at all. We did change rooms due to the road noise and they were very accommodating. Helped us book a taxi to Tambor airport.
Pool-fabulous!
We felt 'safe' here-we were advised to keep valuables in safe so there may have been previous security issues but we didn't feel uncomfortable in any way.

Clean private villas

Very clean rooms, private villas with private parking right in front. A little far from the main town (tough uphill walk and a bit risky in the dark) but great stay overall. The wifi barely worked in our villa however.
