Perfect place in Podstrana

We have been several places in Podstrana and have to say that Villa Amigo is the greatest if you look for a room, not a flat. The room was spotless clean and delicate, had everything you needed and the location, right on the beach was perfect. The host and his staf was very friendly and polite, the owner came every morning to our breakfasttable and ask if everything was ok, thats very nice. The breakfast was really good, you have everything you need. We loved the Villa Amigo and are going to book this hotel for the next vacation in Podstrana. Thanks for everything.

Horrible character!!

The property owner of this establishment verbally assaulted us and also wanted to attack our vehicle because we mistakenly parked in its parking lot while going to dinner in the restaurant next door ( the amigos )
He insulted us with “dirty French” and so on!
The echoes of the other tourists on site go in the same direction!
Run away!

Quite a good hotel.

A small and clean hotel right by the sea.
The balcony has a wonderful view directly to the sea. Breakfast could have had more options, but it was enough to get the morning off to a good start. There were enough parking spaces in front of the hotel. Sun loungers were borrowed from the hotel.

despite the dated decor of the room , the location was great as it was right on the beach , you can get lounges from the hotel to chill outside, next to a bar and a shop which was a 5 minute walk, also a public transport which stops right outside

Is not worth its money

Villa amigo is located in podstrana by the sea. Hotel is clean and there is a bus stop to go to Split or Omissions. These are all good points.
The worst is food. There is no chance that you choose what to eat. Staff cooks every day what they decide. For example it can be fish with French freis and salad. You eat as much as they bring for you, not as much as you want. When we came, staff asked if we eat everything or not. If you are coming with kids, who tend to be choosy, it is better not to take food at all because your kids will be hungry.
Breakfast includes juice from package, tea or coffee, 10-12 small pieces of bread, 3 small packs of butter, jam, cottage cheese, cheese, honey and meat paste. Everything in small packages. They also ask if you want eggs (boiled, omlet, scramble). Same breakfast every day.
On their website it is written that breakfast and dinner are very rich. When you read the description from their website, you expect more but the reality is far from what is written. They position themselves as 4 star apartment. I think it is maximum 2.
Staff does not care about you that much.
Walls in rooms are thin and you can hear neighbors quite well.
I would not recommend that apartment to anyone. It just may be OK if you want to travel around Croatia and you do not take their food. Podstrana itself is nothing special.
P.S. we visited that place in August 2016 and the sea was freezingly cold.
