Fantastic and welcoming guest house

After a long flight and then long drive, it was so wonderful to arrive at Argo,
Svetlana, our host, was so welcoming and hospitable.
The room we had was very comfortable, impeccably clean and large.
Breakfast each morning was generous and delicious.
I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

BEWARE OF THEFT !!

Pros: The property is beautiful, room was nice and breakfast was scrumptuous.
Cons: After checking in, we locked our room and went for dinner. After we came back, I noticed that my bags had been opened while we were away. I then noticed that my AirPods, my MacBook charger and some cash was missing. I immediately informed our guide and while we were talking, we noticed the lady working there was about to leave with her bags. Our guide immediately confronted her and when the owner's daughter searched her bags, my stolen stuff was found with her.
The next morning, when the owners arrived, she told our guide that the said employee was relatively new and will be fired. They didn't even offer a simple apology, forget offering any goodwill gesture for the trauma that was caused because of their employee. Even though an employee stole my stuff, I believe the eventual accountability and responsibility lies with property owner to do background checks to ensure safety of guests and their belongings. It was my alertness to notice that the employee was about to leave the property and potentially my belongings along with her, which would never ever have then been recovered.
This traumatic experience and the fact that the owners barely acknowledged how serious of an issue it was, and did not think it was serious enough to offer a formal apology directly to me, forget any goodwill gesture or compensation. They barely looked remorseful considering the seriousness of the incident. I will never ever stay at this property and would NOT recommend anyone else to stay here either for safety reasons.

Fantastic hotel

Stayed here 4 nights. Very clean, friendly staff. High quality furnishings bathrooms and fantastic views. Television in room. Option to buy latte/cappuccino. Mountains on all sides. Easy access to karakol and mountains.

Superb and quaint private suite

Argo guesthouse is a lovely quaint place in the suburbs of Karakol. The owners and lovely, and their daughter offers massages. There are some really cute dogs you can play with, and the guesthouse itself is lovely. Felt like luxury in Kyrgyzstan - we even had a private entrance room! Real fast is cooked fresh, and varies day to day so you’re always a little surprised. We ended up staying for 3 nights after only planning 1, so we were very happy with that. Gorgeous views of the mountains too.

Great Guest house with fantastic staff

Stayed at Argo guest house for four nights in August this year. Rooms were comfortable and cleaned every day (something we didn't usually find in Kyrgyzstan). The breakfast was very good and the staff made it fresh for whatever time wee wanted it. I can not praise the staff enough, very helpful and friendly. Very good value for money. We had a great time here.
