A trip never to be forgotten
Very authentic setting in the midst of the Amazon rainforest....stayed in individual secluded wood cabins surrounded by the only sound of nature

Excellent 5/5 ⭐️ – An experience that brings joy and rest to the soul at Huasquila Amazon Lodge & Reserve.
We spent three days at Huasquila Amazon Lodge & Reserve, and honestly, I do not have enough words to describe what we experienced. We arrived seeking nature and left feeling deeply loved, renewed, and grateful.
The activities are simply spectacular. We walked day and night through the jungle, visited two beautiful waterfalls (we even swam in one!), explored an impressive cave: an underground path of more than 130 meters eroded in solid rock with a small crystal-clear river that we walked through (rubber boots, water up to the edge of the boot, flashlights on our foreheads, and total darkness). We turned off the lights for a few minutes and... nothing! An experience that makes you feel how small you are in the face of creation. The muddy trails, roots, stones, and moss were quite a challenge, but my little feet (and those of the whole family) managed it. We felt like true all-terrain vehicles!
We saw an incredible number of animals, flowers, and leaves of all kinds. The guide was exceptional; he taught us so much. We made chocolate at the Huasquila facilities. During one of the hikes, when he found a source of white clay, he painted our faces with that highly valuable cosmetic mud himself. Additionally, with his own hands, he made crowns and rings of toquilla straw leaves for each of us. He took us to a Quichua community where we danced with them. Two huge parrots accompanied us, and the sounds of the jungle are simply impressive: high, harmonious, and full of life!
Moreover, we became friends with a couple of guests from the United States who traveled with their mom in a wheelchair. To our surprise, one of the great features of Huasquila is that it has adapted paths and equipment so that people with disabilities can also fully enjoy this Amazonian experience.
The food is delicious and abundant (we left with 5 extra pounds, but it was worth every bite ). Even my husband was encouraged to try the chontacuro (chonta larva) grilled... a dish only for the brave!
The best part: not a single mosquito bit us, and we had no bad experiences during the hikes, all because we followed the suggestions we were given to the letter.
Huasquila is not just a lodge; it is a place where nature, culture, inclusion, and affection come together in such a beautiful way that it leaves a mark on you. If you are looking for an authentic experience in the Ecuadorian Amazon, with amazing guides, delicious food, and a team that cares for you like family… this is THE place.

Fantastic Amazon Lodge that has mobility challeged acess
We brought my wife's 90 year old mother with us on an Amazon adventure!
The staff is fantastic and accommodating with wheel chair access to tour sites.
Food is three meals a day of the most delicious homemade recipes.
The location is fantastic, far enough out of the city and very quiet.
Our cabin sat in the back of the property offering a quiet enjoyable atmosphere.

An unforgettable experience in the Ecuadorian jungle
We had an amazing experience at this lodge in the Ecuadorian jungle and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic rainforest adventure.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the whole team. Rafael, our guide on the first day, made us feel comfortable right away. He helped us settle in by taking our luggage and preparing our room, which was a very thoughtful start after the journey. That same evening, he took us on a night walk and introduced us step by step to life in the jungle, making sure we felt safe and comfortable while experiencing this completely new environment.
For the following days, we were guided by Saul, who was simply outstanding. He led us through the jungle with great confidence and made us feel safe at all times. His knowledge was incredibly impressive, he seemed to know everything about every plant, animal, and sound in the rainforest. Every activity was fascinating because of the way he explained things and shared his passion for the jungle. He was always friendly, professional, and attentive, truly a guide who left nothing to be desired.
On top of that, all the staff at the lodge were exceptionally kind and welcoming. The food and drinks were excellent every single day, and everything was always well balanced, fresh and delicious. We enjoyed one of the dishes so much that we even asked the kitchen staff for the recipe, and they were incredibly kind to take the time to write it down for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the experience feel even more personal and special.
The lodge itself is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. If you are considering a trip to the Ecuadorian jungle, this place is absolutely worth it. It was an unforgettable experience for us.
