Comfy room and good food!
We stayed in the cabanas for 2 nights.
We bargained the price from 50$ to 30$ for 2 people per night including dinner and breakfast (the price is negotiable).
The room is big, has 2 queen size beds, dawn blankets, comfy pillows, and a fire place.
We really enjoyed the dinner (spaghetti, rise, potatos, chicken, salad, fresh juice, soup) it was diverse and delicious.
The breakfast was good also (eggs, yogurt, oat meal, bread, jam, fruit salad, coffe and tea).
Once food was finished on the table the staff replaced with new .
The staff were really nice and helpful, they helped with the fire in the room and any request we had.
The water was almost hot, but it was also evening so I guess all the guests had showers also.
The wifi was really good in the reception (lobby) but the signal is not strong enough in all the rooms (only in the rooms above the reception).
We really enjoyed our stay and recommend the Hostal.

Don't go there!!!
Very rude staff, didn't show any interest in customer service at all. Tried to sel the room for 25$ which we negotiated down to 15$. So do not pay more than 15$!
Didn't have curtains (at street level!!), no water, no towels, no toilet papers. After asking many times for all the missing stuff, we eventually got it after a few hours.
The food was average and really not a lot. No deserts as all other places on our 5day hike served. To round it up, they gave us wrong bus times to Latacunga in order to sell us their taxi service. They didn't give me my 5$ change back. Really, really bad place. It's a big rip off!

Pretty place, okay service
Booked a night here with my boyfriend by simply walking in and asking for a room...(prices slightly negotiable). Warm comfy beds, each room has a fireplace, good wifi! But be aware the dinner and breakfast is quite small, really really small portion sizes for a group of 8 people!
Also you should note the interaction with the reception women/house keepers is sometimes tense if not awkward.

Fine
I stayed here on the third night of the Quilotoa loop. It did the job. I paid $25 but was too tired to haggle so it seems like you can get it for $20 according to other reviews. The room and bed was very nice and included a heater which was very crispy at night. This is what you want at 3800 metres. There was a common area with wifi, computer and a heater. The WiFi was ok considering how high the town is at. You have dinner and breakfast next door at Alpaca which is affiliated with here.

Slightly disappointed
We arrived in quilotoa after 3 days of trekking the quilotoa loop mostly in the rain. We were excited when we got to cabanas because the room looked so nice and they had a wood stove burning in the common room so it was nice and toasty. The lady charged is $20 per person, which was definitely over priced. The shower was not hot and when I complained to the lady she just reassured me in Spanish that yes they had hot water... Hard to argue with my broken Spanish so I just accepted the luke warm shower and we spent the rest of the afternoon trying to get our wood stove up and running to heat our room.
They do have wifi here, which in my opinion is almost a shame. It only works in the one common room and everyone was so glued to their computer/phone that it was impossible to get to know any of the other guests... Strange vibe.
On the bright side the food was good and the bed was comfortable. Once our stove was up and running our room heated up and we were very comfortable through the night.
There are many places to stay in quilotoa, I would recommend scoping out the other options!
