Beautiful, welcoming holiday in paradise
To the beautiful staff of the ‘Club’ who greeted us as family and made our stay so brilliant: Sala, Vili, Jese, Luisa, ‘Eminem’ Emenoni, Timoci, Sisi, Juita, Eleni, Wainikiti, Gabriel, Martha and others who we recognised but whose names we may have not managed to learn… Vinaka! We love you! We felt your care all week and loved your friendliness and sense of humour. Everything about our stay was perfect because of you - from learning our drink orders, to joking with us about our ‘Chief’, to graciously including our youngest one in the fun and festivities… we thank you with our whole hearts. Your professionalism, service and attention were flawless. While we were on ‘Fiji time’, you all worked so hard to anticipate our needs and ensure our comfort - we were so impressed by you. It’s going to be very hard to go back to our normal lives and not see your smiles each day!
We also send our thanks and appreciation to the kitchen staff, who made magic behind the scenes: the food was delicious! We may not have learned all your names but your talents and skills were so admired. Themed ‘high teas’ were brilliant (we all loved passionfruit day!) and the hot canapes were such a treat.
To the amazing musicians Villiame and Tusi - thank you for using your great gifts to entertain and bless us. Some of our best memories are of singing with you at cocktail hour. Fijian love songs might be sad, but we felt only happy with you. Thank you for the extra effort you went to to learn our special song in honour of Donald and Heather - that was amazing and made us very emotional. Also a special mention to the incredible Christina, who played every song we could have wanted at Kama Lounge and Toba - we are amazed at her talent and vocal range.
A giant VINAKA! to cart driver Harley (Hali?) who played the best disco tunes for our rides down to the Lounge. His ‘Venga Bus’ driving gave us some of our favourite memories. Lovely Ricky (Rikesh) who took us to our room when we arrived - thank you for your care and friendliness. We did not manage to get the names of all our drivers but every single one was patient, friendly and most of all funny. Vinaka for saving us the walking!
Big thanks to Kara and the other housekeeping staff who kept our rooms clean and fresh and looking amazing. It was so luxurious to stay in those gorgeous bures and the space was always taken care of so well.
Thanks to Buha, Don, Benny and Dan, who brought us dinner on the first night and also set up the extra bed. Their smiles and welcome were our first taste of Fijian hospitality and they set the bar for what was to come.
Two of us enjoyed a luxurious spa package and received the most caring and professional service from Fee, Ase and Ive - thank you for being so kind and excellent at what you do!
Our children absolutely loved Adi - from the very first day they said “she is our best friend!” and they were so excited to see her. Thank you for bringing such sunshine and making our young people feel welcome and wanted in the resort.
The kids club staff who welcomed Remy to Planet Trekkers - and then gave him a very special opportunity to participate in the torch lighting ceremony. He felt very honoured to be able to do this. Jessie helped him to get ready and was so kind to him. Thank you again!
Other staff through the resort, and at Kama Lounge and Toba: Vali, Miri, Mere, Kale, John, Ali, Tima, Jonah, Joana, Buka, Julia, Reijelia, Maraia… more than we can name - thank you for the way you served us, joked with us, danced with us (!!) and looked after us. You are all amazing. The lovely staff who served us for lunch at the Golf club: Selita & Sailosa - thank you again.
Captain Rodman and the Hydrosports boys gave us the best day ever on our jetski tour - memories we will never forget! Thank you again for keeping us safe and letting us experience the reef up close, and also for the adrenaline rush!
On our jet boat safari we visited Nalebaleba and learned all about the importance of the village in Fijian culture - so thank you for adopting us into the Interconti ’village’ and for making Fiji feel like home. Apologies if we have misspelled or misremembered anyone’s name - we did our best to get to know you the way you got to know us. We wanted to bring you all home to Australia with us. None of us wanted to leave, but we will definitely be back.
To the managers of the Intercontinental Fiji - we chose your resort for our stay because of the beautiful location and the golf course, but it is the staff who have convinced us to return. You have a team of absolute diamonds on your hands. Please pass on our thanks and compliments to the team.

Beautiful resort with exceptional staff.
The resort is set on a stunning beach, with gorgeous, beautifully maintained grounds that make the whole place feel incredibly peaceful and special.
We stayed in a garden view room, which was spacious, spotlessly clean and very well maintained, nestled amongst a lovely tropical garden setting. We particularly loved the outdoor bath — such a beautiful and relaxing touch!
But without a doubt, the highlight of our stay was the staff. Every single person we encountered was warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming. They went out of their way to make us feel special throughout our stay.
I was also incredibly grateful for the honesty and integrity of the staff. I lost a few things during our stay, including a gold necklace that I had accidentally dropped, and everything was found and returned to me. This really meant so much and is a wonderful reflection of the amazing people who work here.
The only area I felt could be improved was the food. There were plenty of good options and we certainly never went hungry, but I didn’t feel the overall standard quite matched what I would expect from a five-star resort. This was a small disappointment in an otherwise exceptional stay.
We had such a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary and left feeling completely relaxed and very well looked after. We would absolutely love to return! ❤️

Don’t Miss Out
The various restaurants were all unique in the food they served and atmosphere but what was all in common was the excellent service and food. Don’t miss your opportunity to experience the real Fijian spirit and book your stay now. Special shoutout to Maraia at the Toba Restaurant for making our dinners so special.

Amazing! But a couple things to consider
The snorkeling was phenomenal! We took their little excursion on the boat because the site is just far enough out, I wouldn't be comfortable swimming that far alone. Well worth it!
The beach is gorgeous. The property is huge, there's room for everyone. Plenty of seating. The only time it was a little more difficult to find a lounger by the pool was right after lunch. You definitely don't need to wake up early to snag a good spot!
We got a "refresh room" since we had a late flight after check out. It was a lovely touch!
The spa is so great I went back a second day!
The resort is a bit secluded though. We skipped some excursions simply because we didn't want to have to waste all day traveling back up to the denarau Marina to catch a boat. But it was very easy to enjoy staying at the resort for most of our time.
I did feel like the resort was a little busy and felt kind of "corporate". I personally enjoyed the more run down but quieter pace of a resort we stayed at on a tiny island.
My biggest hesitation of this resort might be a plus depending on what you're looking for. But I swear every toddler in Australia is here. Outside of Disney, I'm not sure I've seen so many children under the age of 5. Your every meal will have a toddler meltdown within a 10 foot radius. Children most certainly have a right to travel and exist, but it was a bummer when my Afrodite bath experience was serenaded by a screaming toddler a few rooms over. Even the adult only pool wasn't secluded. A couple having their "intimate" dining experience, had a group of kids running circles around the cabana. So do what you will with that information! If you're traveling with kids, the family pool looked wonderful. Tons of room for kids to run. Seemed like there were a ton of activities for them as well.
The resort really is perfect, it just was kind of busy for my personal preference. Having said that, we will likely return. It really is beautiful and you can't beat the customer service!
