Nice Guesthouse, Not Great Food

Guesthouse has a nice garden to hang out in. The room was decent - good value for 50 lari. The 10 year old daughter speaks very good English which is helpful - the owner doesn't speak any English but seemed friendly. Main negative was the food - not great dinner and then pretty much the same again for breakfast... other than that it was a nice stay

Worst Guesthouse ever!

We did the trip from Mestia to Ushguli as so many other tourists, and sadly fell for this Guesthouse near Iprali. Price is about 50 Lari per person, including "dinner" and "breakfast". Those two meals we paid for were first of all not good, we had like old bread a little bit of cheese and kachapuri. And second and worst of all, breakfast were just the leftovers from our dinner.
I could live with that and also the one tiny bathroom for about 30 people and also with the sagging filament beds, and also with the wifi that was basically never working.
However what I can absolutely not live with, are those unfriendly people running the place.
After the one lady realized we don't speak Russian very well she still talked to us in Russian... we understood enough that she called us "dirty pigs".
On the next day as we were about to leave it was raining very heavily, so she always wanted us to take her car service even tho we told her multiple times we want to walk. After that and the disappointing breakfast we were waiting for the rain to stop for like 20 minutes in front of our room. She then tried to tell us in the most unfriendly way that we cannot leave our bags in the room and we have to get out (time about 10am).
I put the money in her hand, left without saying anything. Never again!

À éviter..

Nous avons dormi ici une nuit avec notre propre tente pendant le trek de Mestia à Ushguli pour 10 lari. La communication était difficile (seule la fille parle quelques mots d'anglais). L'utilisation de la douche était en supplément (5 lari/p). Nous n'avons pas été autorisé à accéder aux WC de la maison mais nous avions droit au trou au fond du jardin.
