THE BEST

Such an amazing spot! Killer views of Lake Atitlan from the room, which was super spacious and clean with a modern rustic touch. The bathroom was very cool, bathtub bliss. Again with a large window view to the lake! No aircon needed, perfect cool temps in the evening. The staff were phenomenal (thank you Milcar! For everything and Tara for communicating with us on whatsapp with whatever questions we needed answered)
The animals on the property were the best though, victoria the talking parrot and the pups that accompanied us for the insanely delicious breakfasts and walks around the grounds. Morning dips in the lake and paddle boarding , super close walk (20min) or tuc tuc (5min) to the san marcos town area. We really had a blast.

Tranquil setting, top notch accomodations, and fantastic property owner/hostess!

Anzan, meaning peaceful mountain, lives up to the definition. Amazing views accented by a well designed property allowing for a tranquil and 'unplugged' experience.
We spent six nights in the Loft. A spartan abode yet contained all that was needed. Designed with access to daily views of mountains while surrounded by plenty of greenery to blend into nature.
Parts of the day were spent relaxing by the clear water and melodious sounds of Lake Atitlan. Sun and sounds of boat taxis digested and providing a calm and soothing few hours. To top it off, as a avid swimmer, access to the lake from a dock or by the wood sauna allowed to me to connect and truly enjoy my surroundings. Nothing like bobbing along with views of spectacular volcano views matched with blue sky and green and colorful landscapes. Even the option to swim naturally!
The accomodations were perfect. At extra cost we arranged for a couples massage coordinated to be outside the loft achieving further relaxation
We also enjoyed a 7 (maybe more) course NYE dinner. Hand crafted and delivered by the property owner and daughter. The opportunity to celebrate the end of the year with new foods and combinations was perfect!
Lastly, taking a helicopter from Guatemala City to the Anzan helipad was a first. We walked to villages, took boat taxis, and tuk-tuks.
Plenty to do in Lake Atitan, many experiences in surrounding villages, and the perfect retreat at Anzan Hotel! Highly recommend!

Incredible stay

Highly recommend this beautiful hotel in a lush and quiet setting on Lake Atitlán. The views from the room were stunning. We stayed in room 2, which has access to a private rooftop where you can sit and read or enjoy your morning coffee. The owner, Dita, makes you feel at home immediately and offers romantic dinners and breakfasts by the lake. The room includes a mini bar with a great selection of drinks. The location is a perfect jumping off point for exploring the towns around the lake.

Farm to Table at its best!!!

When you think of Guatemala the last thing on your mind when thinking of their food is fine dining. That it could ever compare to the food scene giants of Europe an Asia. Boy were my wife and i surprised. Not only was the service impeccable but the quality of the ingredients (which were grown in her garden!) and the technique shown. From a chef who has worked for many famous chefs I can tip my hat to her.
And the fact that they were so helpful to us and accommodating was the icing on the cake!!

The landscapes that Anzan provides are amazing

A magical magical place as a destination, located on the most beautiful lake in the world Atitlan, the tranquility and nature that surrounds it are incredible, all this without sacrificing the comfort of a vacation, super attentive Dita and Amilcar in everything we need, would certainly return.

Muchas gracias por sus palabras tan bonitas. Nos alegra saber que la magia del lago, la tranquilidad y la naturaleza que rodean a Anzan hicieron de su estancia una experiencia especial, sin perder la comodidad de unas vacaciones. Fue un placer atenderles junto con Amílcar y estaremos encantados de recibirles nuevamente cuando regresen a Atitlán.
