Fantastic Gem on the Atlantic Coast in Conakry!

I loved this wonderful hotel, Isabelle and Ismael were fantastic hosts and this hotel really was a lovely homely stay in an otherwise chaotic yet awesome city. They both have wonderful storied about Conakry and Guinea. The food was fantastic French Guinean fusion. Breakfast was also very good, full and great spread with fresh Baguettes!
I would highly recommend this hotel, great people running it. Whenever I return to Conakry, I know where my home is!

Not great.

The rooms are generally clean but of very variable quality, some are almost unhygienic because of the humidity. Bathrooms are basic with often something broken (tap, flush,...).
The sheets and towels are clean but with unpleasant brown halos.
The food is good (breakfast) or even good (dinner) but the prices are really high for the country.
The sunset view is beautiful but the beach depressing dirt (it's a dump, like all the city coasts unfortunately).
Anyway, I'm not going back.

Very Good address, will come again

Good address in Conakry. Beautiful set-up facing the ocean (too bad the beach is a dump, but this is not the owner's fault and he does what he can to clean it every day). The owner, Ismael, is extremely arranging (he picked me up for the airport in person - a first ever from a hotel owner/manager), welcoming, friendly and fun. He's been living in Guinea for years and has heaps of fun stories to tell his guests. The rooms are basic but clean, aircon works perfectly. Definitely a great place for travelers who want to stay away from impersonal and unfriendly large international hotels.

5 Heart Hotel

For my first vist to the African continent and Conakry I choose this hotel because its location. In this wild city Les Palmiers is a true oasis, calm, green, sea view and breeze.
Mme Ghussein and family are very friendly and welcoming. The room we had was spacious and simple, with very good airconditioning and bed mattress. The bathroom is basic and shower not always delivering the rain effect it promises by the look.
The tasty breakfast was French style in a social setting on a round table were we met other friendly guests. The garden is really a relaxed spot. College students playing football down from the terrace on the beach. The quality of seawater doesn't invite for a swim, but there is a pool in the garden. Free wifi available, not for sending heavy docs. Checking out with late departure was not a problem and we had the possibility to freshen up before a long trip. Not a fancy European 5 star hotel but a local experience with 5 hearts.

The place to be in Conakry

Pension Les Palmiers is one of my favorite hotels in Conakry. It is located 20m from the beach in Kipe, the most secure district in the Guinean capital. The name of the hotel speaks for itself: the idyllic picturesque garden with ocian view, a case and a little pool is a nice place to escape from the noisy and dusty Conakry life.
The hotel is a family enterprise.
We spent over 2 weeks in this hotel and felt very welcomed by the family.
All in all living in this hotel and getting to know all this people was a really nice experience and we are sure to come back there next time.
