LOCATION, BREAKFAST, SPACES

I chose this hotel based on these factors: location, value for money and reviews of this site and I would say that it satisfied them all! It is a very cozy two star hotel with a breakfast available 24 h, which is an added value that you usually do not find. As soon as we arrived, at 21.30, the Owner "invited" us to sit down to eat something and we had practically everything, being there, both sweet (from delicious stroopwafels, typical biscuits with honey, to waffels, to delicious jams, juices, croissants and various sweets, yogurt, cereals etc.) and savory (exquisite Dutch cheeses, an excellent salami with herbal peel, fresh tomatoes and gherkins, boiled eggs and bread of different types). The Owner, an old man who at first glance may seem gruff but who instead turned out to be very helpful, making us find our My Saves cheese and bread for breakfast, lives on the ground floor next to the reception, so he is always present. The room was large and spacious, with lots of shelves, two wardrobes and several mirrors and, more unique than rare, equipped with two toilets placed in two separate rooms, fantastic! In addition, a separate room with shower and finally the sink (nice large and well lit with spotlights and equipped with various shelves very comfortable) placed directly inside the room. The only moles; the very steep staircase (there is no elevator, so you have to travel on foot and this can be very difficult for those with heavy luggage) and the carpet, which is still present in all the hotels even in a higher category. Cleanliness is good, change towels after 2 nights. Presence of shower gel tubes (which were replenished every day), disposable slippers and very convenient hairdryer. Convenient central location to reach all the sites of interest on foot (10 min.walk from Rembrandt Square) and also close to the Central Station, so we did not have the need to make the card for transport, we used the train only on the day of the trip to the Windmill village.
The price is not low but if you compare it with other hotels in Amsterdam you will understand why I chose it.

As authentic an Amsterdamse huis can get. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Here is everything one can ask for who enjoys alternative and historical ambiances. The house is lovely; really cozy, quirky and unique. I think most of that can be said about the host too which is suiting. Everything is clean, great range of tv channels, great views...its quiet
I give this place: "❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️".
I read in an earlier review there were only cookies for breakfast. Thats not true, here is 24/7 full continental breakfast with different fresh bread buns, juices, coffee, liverpastey, cheese, eggs, cornflakes, yoghurt and much more.
Remember dutch 17century houses have steep high stairs so youd better be able to climb them. No disabled, atrhritis or limping works here.

Excellent

Of course it is not a Hotel as one might expect.
Don't look for a Hilton or Novotel here.
Here you are out of time...
Kees welcomes you with kindness and good humor. We are at his place but we are at home.
Old Dutch building with its steep staircases (avoid when leaving the Coffeeshop )
But huge room with view of the canal, excellent bedding, sufficient comfort and very decent breakfast. We would have appreciated a little more savory dishes but we were happy to settle down for the morning.
A stone's throw from the center but quiet.
We'll come back.

Comfortable hotel near the center

By the canal, in a quiet place, no overpass traffic. Lovely backyard view for large garden. We had a room on the top floor with its own roof terrace. The terrace is accessed through stairs and a large window. No lift, the stairs to the rooms are very narrow and difficult to get up with luggage. The downstairs reception offers 24-hour food and drinks. Really good location and quality-price ratio.

Clean and comfortable spot with canal view

This hotel was perfect for a solo female traveler. It was in a safe yet quiet area within easy walking distance to all the major sights (within 20 minutes of the Museum Quarter, Jordaan Neighborhood, Red Light District, Central station.) My room was large, clean and comfortable with great amenities. I would definitely recommend it!
