In the upper north of holland there once was a...

Wben we entered the building we thought 'Fawlty Towers' but the hostess was clearly so much friendlier and the quaint lobby and bar made us feel we landed in a fairytale. It is clearly no 4 star hotel and the garden has seen better, much better times but..... The rooms are unique, light and very clean. And best of all QUIET just like the village itself. We had a mainly yellow/whie colored room which was clean, cozy and felt 'positive'. Again it is a family run hotel so don't expect a mainstream hotel. Breakfast was not only goid, it was served in a way you don't get anymore in most hotels. Reallly friendly waiter and nice atmosphere as well. Lots of natural light which helps waking up. We are surely returning. .ps beds are like Japanese futons but I slept like a rose. Felt like I realy had a good nights rest.

Soddisfatto

All the rooms in this cute and quaint little hotel near the German border had a different theme." Soddisfatto "was the name of our room which means pleased/satisfied. And that is exactly how we felt about our 1 night stay there.
The two young owners were very friendly and helpful.
In the evening we had a very delicious 3 course diner in their restaurant.
We will be back next year!!!

Romantic hotel

We spent 3 nights in this hotel in Bellingwolde, a small but beautiful village in the province Groningen, near the German border. All rooms are decorated differently in a romantic country style. Good beds, very nice breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owners.

Quiet hotel

We spend four days in this hotel. The hotel owners are very friendly, helpful and nice. Every room has its own theme, but it looks a bit cheap. The rooms could be more spacious and cleaner, there are some spiderwebs in the corners and I found a sock under my bed that didn't belong to my wife.
The bar was not really in use. There is no lift, but a very steep stairs. But the owners will carry your luggage.
Hotel is oké for one or two nights, not more.

Fantastic company

I stayed here on the way to Germany. what a fantastic host the owner and hi wife are. the rooms are a really good size. there is plenty space for parking. and if you like peace and quiet this is the place. it is set in a tiny village close to the German border.
