All the staff were incredibly lovely and helpful, the room was lovely with a lot of amenities; fridge, microwave, AC, multi function bath/shower. The view from the balcony of the lake is stunning. Couldn't have picked a better location and will be returning! Can't recommend enough

Totally no tourist accommodation

We had booked two nights in this hotel more than three months in advance. Much to our disappointment, we were told on arrival that the hotel was full and that there was no room available for us. Instead we were accommodated in an apartment nearby.
That apartment was a huge setback: very outdated, dark, poorly ventilated and without air conditioning. At an outside temperature of about 30 degrees, it was unbearably hot inside. We didn't sleep pretty much all night because of that. A window open on the bedroom could not either, along a busy road.
After breakfast we decided not to stay the second night. At that moment we were suddenly told that there was a room available in the hotel. For us it was already too late by then; the trust had disappeared and our stay had actually already failed.
The atmosphere in the hotel was also very disappointing. During breakfast, the breakfast room was largely full of soldiers from an adjacent army base. That in itself is not a problem, but it gave the hotel a very different look than we expected based on the website and our booking. There was hardly a relaxed tourist holiday atmosphere. During the day, the hotel was virtually extinct, which did not improve the experience.
It is incomprehensible that after a reservation made more than three months in advance, you will hear on arrival that there is no room available. The replacement accommodation was well below par and the way this has been handled has completely ruined our short break.

The hotel is a quaint, boutique-style location in the quiet town of Brunssum. I was there for a job interview, so only spent an evening there. The room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. I had a lovely balcony overlooking the back of the property and the neighbors (including some interesting apiaries). My only issue is the WIFI wouldn't connect so I couldn't watch much on the TV, in terms of apps. The breakfast was delicious and included in the room. Across from the hotel is a beautiful large pond with a fountain and a lovely walking trail around the water. The restaurants across the street offer quite tasty dining and there is a live music theater there as well.
