an excellent stay, warm and cordial

The hotel is located in a beautiful area with lots of opportunities for cycling. The welcome is very cordial and helpful, the room is very neat and spacious supplemented by a lovely balcony. The food is of good quality and prepared with due care, very tasteful. Definitely a recommendation to stay here for a few days

Already winding down.

Stayed in hotel restaurant De Wapser Herberg from Tuesday 2 September to Friday 5 September. A four day Dinner package.
This Review no longer makes sense because it closes on October 1. And this was noticeable. Therefore, no extensive Review. But I still have a few things to say. They were only open to hotel guests on Monday to Wednesday.

On arrival on 2 September at 11.45 am, no one was present at the reception until 12.30 pm.
Had been to 1.25 o'clock in the car have felt like a cup of coffee. So that didn't happen. No one was present at the reception until 5 pm on Wednesday.
Also the Tuesday and Wednesday you could not eat á la carte only the daily menu. Thinks you can at least communicate this to your guests in advance. Partly because this is a lesser Service. The daily menu was not really surprising. What we did expect from the reviews. One day of mustard soup, chicken thighs and satay sauce and banana ice cream with piece of cheese cake and a sprinkle of whipped cream.
The second day chicken soup (again soup) which was more of a vegetable soup. With a stew, this one was nice, and occasionally a scoop of ice cream now vanilla, with a piece of cake with mango and a dash of whipped cream. Got the idea that the cook was also winding down.
Service was both by the two girls very friendly, but the owner did not look very friendly. Clearly didn't feel like it anymore.
Still something positive the, luxury , room was very spacious and also the bathroom was spacious.
Breakfast was also extensive. But what was strange, we were expected to clear your table yourself and put everything in a rack. .Have been to many hotels but never had to clear yourself.
When paying for the drinks the last day, the owner did not ask if everything had been satisfactory. All in all, we didn't really feel welcome at the Wapser Inn.

Wonderful days in Drenthe

The reception was friendly. Hostess walked along to the rooms and meanwhile explained everything. Rooms are clean and big enough. Air conditioning was very nice during the hot days we were there. We had an arrangement so also 2x dinner. And what a wonderful meal we had. The 3rd day we could also eat somewhere else but we did not. We wanted to enjoy the culinary delights of this cook once more. Service restaurant deserves a big thumbs up. Friendly and there was neat and correctly served.
Breakfast was also good. Plenty of choice and again everything equally fresh and tasty.
Really worth staying here

Drents Friese Wold

Nice room with view on the garden. Very kind service in spite of covid measures.
Endless possibilities for hiking and biking in a fantastic environment.
Two dinners were included, served on the room. Excellent quality and service to make it a succes.

Very nice stay

The Wapser Herberg is a very nice place to stay for a short while.
The (basic) room was very pleasant and very spacial.
The breakfast and diner were also very good. And with our arrangement the price was also quite nice.
The vicinity is very good for nice hikes and bike tours.
