Excellent location, cheap
The location of the hotel could hardly be better. The price is the cheapest in Seoul I found for a double room with private bath. The room is small, basic, but everything works well. The staff is competent and helpful. Of course, do not have excessive expectations of the room, but if you look for the best price for an acceptable quality in the centre of Seoul this is the place. I shall definitely return.

Small room And not clean
Booked a standard room for sole use in June for 4 nights.
The location is good where airport bus (6011) stop just in front of the hotel. It is closd to Dongdaemun and DFP.
But the room is very small. The towels were unclean and I dared not to use it. It was very obvious that the staff only made up the bed and cleaned up the rubbish bin. The used cups always untouched.
Suggest to bring own pillow cases if you want to sleep more comfortable.
Wifi connection inside the room is good.

Good location but not well maintained property
Positive:
- cheap
- close to dongdaemun shopping area within 10 mins walking distance
- 24hrs convenient shops downstairs
- one nearby exchange shop and the rate is much better than those in dongdaemun shopping area
- the toilet size is acceptable and not very small
- Staff is nice
- free and strong wifi throughout the property
Negative:
- Room is very small. Our triple room can just open 3 small cases. Even just one 29" luggage case can't be opened horizontally. My fd's Deluxe twin is even smaller. Luckily they didn't book Basic twin room. They put their luggage on the single bed (have got permission from the housekeeper) and slept together on the double bed.
- The property is very old and not well maintained. The photos in official website are not updated. For my triple room, the paint on the wall is even pelt off.
- The function of the basin is not working well. Its expulsion of water is very slow.
Conclusion: It's cheap and budget hotel and worth at it's quote price. The photos on its website can't reflect the actual, if I know the reality, I will change to another hotel. I won't go back again.

Best location for self-walkabouts
Quiet and unassuming. Best location in the Dongdaemun area. Surrounded by local food stalls and within walking exploring distance to look for local markets with seaweed, ginseng, wholesale in the day and night. 3 subway lines catering to the rest of Seoul very conveniently. Turn right on leaving the hotel = subways and wholesale markets/ Shopping Centres/Jimjilbang. Turn left, market shopping for home cooking, Asian-style. No meals at this hotel.
There is a lift to save your back from "Stairway Seoul" if you brought heavy luggages. If you make your way from subway to subway, your tired feet and back would love the lift that serves even the 2nd floor. The desk service is friendly and very helpful. Any repairs to any part of your room is also done by the front desk gal. She fixed the sink. The people are very helpful.
Beds are firm. Pillows not soft - gave me a crick in the neck and ended up sleeping with comforter folded up - I can only use soft feather pillows.. Sheets are clean with daily room token changes of towels and making of the beds, supply of bottles of water and coffee sachets. However, if you are expecting pristine mould-free loo, lower your expectations. Every night, I had dust balls fly onto my bed from the AC. It is obvious this 201 triple room is rarely used. Apart from that, this was a comfortable and quiet room even though it was facing the main road.
Fried olive oil chicken "BBQ Chicken" chain is round the corner between Lotte and the hotel along the side street. On the same street are local chicken soup shop, Korean BBQ restaurants and snack stalls everywhere... I bought my best Kyoho grapes here from the same lane off a man with a pushcart fruit stall for 5000 won. Post Office is next door with hospital across the street and police station a block away. Extremely safe area as a base and best of all, when sick of using the subway to the airport, take the Airport shuttle here to Incheon for 14,000 won one-way, every 25mins. 7000 won to Gimpo Airport if going to Jeju.
The best bit of the hotel's service is letting us leave our large luggages with them while we were in Jeju for 4 days. They automatically brought our luggage to our rooms when we returned. Nice. The hotel has maps galore. Not perfect but we're not that choosy, so we are likely to return here, if we return to Seoul.

Recommended.
2 minutes walk to new Lotte Fittin shopping mall & 10 minutes walk to ChungBu dried food market. It takes 5 minutes walk to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park subway station. Across the road is famous Dongdaemun shopping area. Convenient stores are nearby. Also, airport shuttle bus stops in front of the hotel.
Room and bathroom cleanliness is excellent.
You will feel the room is rather small if 2 oversized adults are in a room.
Staff are friendly, kind and helpful. They speak little English.
A good choice for the range of rate offered.
