Every thing was really nice and beautiful. I just wish there’s wifi. Paid WiFi was really slow too. But all in all I will recommend this to everyone

Go Across The Road /Not Here

Some friends of ours were across the road for essentially the same price, and their room was much cleaner, service much better, and staff more professional. This is a rustic place and very dated as far as fixtures and decor. Staff very young, inexperienced, and not terribly professional. Rough clientele partying into the night.
Pros: good location near park. Food truck was pretty good too.
But look elsewhere first!

Overpriced for the Experience

I will start by saying the positives, and that I would give this "resort" more stars if it was not so expensive. We stayed in one of the motel type rooms. It was clean and appeared to be pretty new. There was a coffee maker provided and the bathroom was clean and pretty large. We had a rental car, and it was an easy 6 mile drive to the national park so the location was a positive for us.
However, for over $400 dollars a night we were pretty disappointed overall. The beds were doubles and quite small. There was not refrigerator in the room and there was no free Wifi. Worse than that, we are suspicious that they actually block signal to the rooms. We have unlimited data plans and rarely use Wifi in hotels. We could barely use our phones in the room, but we could use them better outside on the porch. It's not like the walls of the rooms were thick either because we could hear our neighbors very well! I understand that we were in Alaska, but we had 5G service at the Denali Visitor Center. Every other hotel in the area has free Wifi...the Holland America Hotel had their Wifi password posted in the lobby. We could have had free Wifi there without booking a hotel room. This is 2026...free Wifi is not a luxury amenity. Also, although we didn't need a shuttle, it was pretty obvious once we were there that the Grizzly Bear Resort was pretty much the only "resort" in the area without a free shuttle...pretty shameful for the price of the rooms. They also threaten to charge you $5 if you lose the plastic key card....are you serious!?!
Overall, this wasn't a terrible place to stay, and I would have been happy to stay there if I felt like the price matched the amenities. However, compared to every other place that we saw near Denali this place is definitely lacking in some very significant areas. Do your research and take your money elsewhere if the prices are similar.

Hi Kristen, the nightly rate all depends on demand in Denali Park. When we are at $400 a night, the other properties probably have nightly rates cranked up all over $600 a night. I'm sure you shopped around and found that to be true. We do charge a $5 fee for the metal cabin keys, as we have to drive to Fairbanks and get metal replacement keys cut. We don't worry abut the plastic hotel electronic chip keys.

I suppose this place is good for some folks as it has a mixture of everything from tent sites to RV sites to cabins and normal hotel rooms. Our room was clean and had a great view of the river but the building F we were in was remote and we had to walk our luggage there through the entire complex. “Resort” is a curious name for this place because there is nothing resort about it. It’s basic accommodations with no frills whatsoever. The Wifi signal is weak and you need to pay for it and the cell coverage on AT&T was 1 bar. No way to contact the front desk or anyone else as there are no room phones. Thank goodness the Park Village complex was across the street as it is a real resort and we took advantage of that place with the shuttles and the restaurants and the stores. The store at the Grizzly is kind of sad and doesn’t open till 9:00 AM so you can’t even get coffee before then. A real campy place and we’re a bit beyond that at our point.

Nature-oriented, beautiful accommodation.

Very nicely situated complex; our room was large and comfortably furnished with a great view. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. Options to eat something nearby.
