Perfect location in downtown Asheville... wonderful staff… Beautiful rooms
This hotel is perfect if you want to be close to everything in downtown Asheville… Not the outskirts of Asheville, but the downtown area with all of its restaurants shops , coffee shops, bars, etc.,etc.
First of all I want to say I planned my trip through a second party booking company about six months ahead of time. In the meantime my plans changed twice and I had to change the dates of my reservation at the hotel. The hotel was very accommodating and did not give me any grief about changing the dates and since I was in the window which was only 24 hours of date changes I was not penalized at all.
I personally called the front desk from home and they were always very very nice.
When I checked into the hotel I was greeted with a glass of champagne and two very nice front desk staff.
My room was absolutely fabulous it was on the 10th floor and I had a corner premium king room and it had almost views to die for of the beautiful mountains surrounding Asheville.
The bed was very comfortable ,the amenities were great… the one and only thing I did not like is the fact that they had no clock anywhere in the room, but then again I'm part of the older generation and I'm used to looking at a clock not at my phone all the time to see what time it is. When I checked out I was given a parting gift! I mean, who does that??
If you're going to Asheville and want to be where the action is and I'm not talking about loud action I just mean where you can walk around the town and enjoy the atmosphere, do yourself a favor and stay at the Cambria Hotel.

The location was good and the hotel was clean. However we were not able to use the breakfast voucher that was pre-purchased due to an issue in the kitchen. While this situation was unavoidable, the staff and hire manager were unable to provide any assistance.

Worst sleep in a hotel ever…
There is a lot to like about the Cambria Asheville. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the mountain views are beautiful, and the location is fantastic. We could easily walk to almost everything we wanted to see and do in downtown Asheville. The valet parking was also excellent — easy, convenient, and impressively quick every time we needed our car.
But unfortunately, the negatives have made this a stay I’m unlikely to repeat.
I’m actually writing this review at 4:30 AM on our second night because I can’t sleep.
The HVAC system is designed to stop when the room is unoccupied, presumably as an energy-saving feature. Unfortunately, it seems to have a similar effect overnight, and the room becomes incredibly hot and stuffy. I couldn’t figure out what was happening the first night. Tonight, I’ve been waking up about every hour and a half and getting out of bed just to move around and get some air circulating. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had two consecutive nights of such terrible sleep in a hotel. For me, this is a major issue — a nice hotel room doesn’t mean much if you can’t sleep in it.
We also purchased the breakfast package because we didn’t want to worry about finding breakfast our first morning. The food was delicious, but the espresso machine was apparently broken, so none of the coffee options — including the Cuban coffee specifically listed on the menu — were available. We had to make a separate stop somewhere else for coffee afterward. Again, not a huge issue on its own, but disappointing when you’ve paid for a breakfast package.
There was another odd disconnect with the breakfast package. When I went to use our vouchers, there was a nice letter in the room explaining all of the benefits we were supposed to receive. One of those benefits was a glass of champagne at check-in. We were never offered it. I probably would have declined the champagne anyway, but if it’s listed as a benefit of the package, it seems reasonable to expect to at least be offered it.
And then there was housekeeping. I’ve honestly never experienced anything quite like it. One towel we had used was replaced with a clean towel, and one extra bar of soap was left by the sink — upside down and looking almost as if it had simply been tossed there. At first, we genuinely wondered whether anyone had been in the room at all. Apparently someone had, but the extremely minimal and strange way the room was serviced left us confused.
It’s frustrating because this hotel has so much going for it. The location is excellent, the rooms are large, the views are lovely, and the valet service is terrific. But sleep is a pretty basic expectation at a hotel, and the HVAC issue has completely overshadowed the positives of our stay.
Unfortunately, despite the fantastic location, I would probably choose somewhere else the next time we’re in Asheville.

Exceptional Hospitality from Tim
From the moment I arrived at the Cambria Hotel Downtown Asheville, Tim at the front desk made me feel genuinely welcome. He was polite, friendly, and professional, and greeting me with a glass of cold champagne was an especially nice touch after traveling.
Tim’s warm demeanor and excellent customer service made a great impression and added to my overall experience at the hotel.
