TERRIBLE SERVICE! Find somewhere else.
When we arrived, we parked in self-parking and made our way to the entrance, only to find the door locked. I stood outside for some time without being acknowledged until the valet eventually opened the door for us. Once inside, there was no one at the front desk, and the valet had to press a button to get someone to come out. There was also no bell staff or anyone available to assist us with bringing our luggage up to the room, so we were left to handle everything ourselves.
Our interaction with the receptionist who checked us in was extremely off-putting. She was cold, dismissive, and seemed visibly irritated to be assisting us. I understand that we arrived late and therefore did not necessarily expect every traditional arrival touch, such as tea or a warm towel, but I do expect basic hospitality and a welcoming attitude from a luxury hotel—regardless of the hour.
We were essentially handed a sheet of paper and sent on our way. Nothing was properly explained to us. The hotel’s amenities, our benefits, what was included with our stay, and how to access or use anything were never reviewed. We had to figure everything out ourselves, which was particularly disappointing considering the level of service this hotel presents itself as offering.
The following morning, the gentlemen at the front desk were friendlier, but overall, the service still did not feel up to the standard I would expect at this price point. We then went to the restaurant for breakfast, were seated, and waited an unreasonable amount of time before anyone came to take our order. Guests who arrived after us were helped before we were. For such a highly regarded hotel and restaurant, the experience was honestly shocking.
The room itself was also underwhelming. We were told we had received an upgrade, but as far as we could tell, the “upgrade” simply meant being placed on a higher floor in essentially the same room. There was no full-length mirror, no microwave, and no refrigerator aside from the minibar. More concerning was the cleanliness. There was visible dust, water/dirt stains on the ceiling, and even a spiderweb in one of the corners. The towels were also terrible—they shed and pilled all over my skin to the point that I could barely use them.
Room service was easily the best part of our stay. It arrived promptly, and the food was delicious.
Overall, I would not stay here again. For a hotel at this price point and with this reputation, the service simply did not match expectations. What bothered me most was our check-in experience. Guests should not be made to feel like an inconvenience simply because they arrive late, especially when the hotel was notified of the late arrival in advance. It is not the guest’s responsibility to deal with an employee’s frustration about working a late shift.
I have stayed at hotels with lower star classifications and at considerably lower price points where the level of service and hospitality was significantly better. When choosing a luxury property, especially one with this type of reputation, there is an expectation that the service will distinguish the experience. In this case, it simply did not.
It was a disappointing start to what was supposed to be a special birthday weekend, which also went completely unacknowledged. After seeing the exceptional experiences and personalized treatment this hotel often showcases online and through influencers, I expected regular paying guests to receive that same level of care and hospitality. Sadly, that was not our experience.
I also have reached out TWO TIMES and no one has contacted me back. If that doesn’t speak volumes to the terrible service this hotel provides, I’m not sure what else will.

NOBU ATL #1 CHOICE!!
We love the people, the food, the vibes, and the accommodations. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the food is always on point and delectable, and we appreciate the upgrades and thoughtful touches. It feels good to arrive somewhere familiar, where people remember you and make you feel welcome. Special appreciation to Zaniaya for her stellar leadership, professionalism, attentiveness, and consistency, to Naqueisha for her welcoming warmth, and to Sam for his gracious resourcefulness. The people make the experience, and Nobu has a great team. You all deserve promotions!
