Key's best visit in and with nature
We had an absolutely unforgettable 2-nights stay in here, where we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the beautifully calm environment. The room (Ocean View) was very spacious, comfortable bed, very spacious bathroom with rain shower, gorgeous ocean-view, lovely beach where the accommodation offers complimentary kayaks or boat, great sunsets, and deers walking up to us 'begging' to be petted.
Gorgeous experience, not far from Key West (half hour drive) and we're looking forward to returning soonest.

Serene and beautiful
This is a very serene location. The view is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The accommodations are comfortable. It was exactly the getaway location we wanted. As a plus, the cute key deer made an appearance. Our host, Beatrice, was very accommodating.

Beautiful location
Love location & place. View is amazing Rooms clean. Bed comfortable. Enjoyed key deer visiting each evening. Breakfast was okay. Nothing fancy. Cons. It was a burden not to have ice available to guests. Either freezer or ice machine. Communication was lacking. Responses were received 18-24 hours later. Tried to get info sooner, but received check in details, info & password at our check in time. Sent numerous texts & left vm message that the password was incorrect which resulted in no internet or TV for 18 hrs until she responded with correct password.

Beautiful Ocean Front Room
The location is awesome - feels private, beautiful views, right on the ocean. Nice continental breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, AC worked great. The cost/value and some of the experience are why I didn't rate higher.
There was no one there at check-in, I got an email with info about how to get into the room and it said to respond to the email with any questions. I responded to the email a couple of times with some questions but never heard back so that was a bummer. If you stay downstairs - the upstairs area is public and where breakfast is served! I didn't realize this and missed the breakfast on the first day - I was looking for it in the downstairs public areas.
We had one other weird experience - when we were checking out someone (maybe the owner??) came and sat in a chair smoking a cigarette watching us move our belongings, didn't say a word, and had parked in the way of us getting to our car. It felt like they were making sure we were out of there on time? It was just a bit odd.
I can also agree with the previous comments that the number and location of cameras felt excessive and invasive.
They need more information for guests if there isn't going to be any staff on site (and if they aren't responding to the email) - maybe a manual in the rooms? The location is awesome, I think it really has potential, hopefully the new owners can continue to improve.

Quiet Solitude, abounding in wildlife
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Barnacle BnB. After the hustle and bustle of Key West, we were amazed at the quiet solitude. KW hotel rooms are small, Barnacle was huge. Located right on the beach, waterfront, the views were amazing. Each evening a small herd of Key deer wandered through the property, up close and personal. We were able to go for quiet walks down the road and saw lots of birds, lizards, deer, an enormous turtle and a few furry things we had no idea about.
The room had everything you'd expect, was clean and appealing. Bathroom as well. It was nice to be able to spread out in the large room. Upstairs was another huge space, they called a cafeteria. Breakfast was coffee and pastries, both satisfying. We found a great locals bar/restaurant back up on Route 1, good food, made a few new acquaintances.
I highly recommend Barnacle BnB. I suspect next time we go to KW, we might stay here and drive to KW for the day, it's a great experience.
