Great boutique hotel vibe. Lots of personal touches and service. Nice lobby/bar/restaurant area. Food was excellent also. Highly recommended.

Hotel Embers
Location: Was great to walk to the shops and restaurants, but in most rooms, your view would be looking at a parking lot.
Atmosphere: Upon entering the hotel, they make an effort to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. I will give it that it is clean, and a restaurant is attached, but forget eating there without a reservation. They have coffee in the lobby, but at the end of your stay, they charge you a $ 65- 70 facility fee. When asked what for, they say it's for the coffee and parking.
Rooms don't have carpet, which works for some hotels but not this one. Unless you love hearing the people above you scoot chairs across the floor and drop stuff. Oh, and the bathroom door is a barn-door style with no locks and won't stay closed, so it slides back open partially, leaving no privacy whatsoever. You can also hear them being opened and closed in the room beside you and above you. Walls are paper thin; you could hear the guy in the next room blowing his nose and coughing. Also, if you are as lucky as we are, you get the room straight across from the elevator. You can hear every conversation going on outside your room, and, as a bonus, the linen closet is next to the elevator as well, so you get to hear housekeeping going in and out of it.
Value: Just Horrible; they charge way too much money for what you get, which isn't much. Seriously
Cleanliness: Is the only real thing it has going for it.
Noise level: The absolutely worst I have ever experienced; have to add they have music on Friday and Saturday nights. So don't plan on you or, if you have children with you, getting any sleep till after 10:30 p.m. unless you get lucky and they shut down the music earlier.
Service: I asked for directions and told them I hated driving on curving roads... so they chose the curviest road to send us on. They have better roads than what they sent us on. Go figure!
Amenities: none that I saw.
Rate: At best a 2 to a 2 1/2; the only reason for the 2 1/2 is that it is clean and location.

4th July get away
Restaurant in Hotel would not seat for Saturday brunch because they required reservations
The restaurant was empty

Not 4* Experience
Great location and friendly staff. The breakfast was a joke for a supposed 4* hotel. More like a 1* breakfast. Convenient to walk to downtown and new well decorated hotel. Service was below average due to front desk not responding to simple request to clean the room.

Fabulous Hotel
Beautifully appointed hotel in Blowing Rock. Continental Breakfast in the morning and chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. Lovely large room with fluffy towels and robes. Every day maid service…the only thing I would improve on is that the room has a lot of wasted space. There is room for a comfy couch or love seat that was not in my room. I did have a standard room though… Wonderful staff too….I don’t know why The Embers is rated number nine of fourteen hotels in Blowing Rock. I would not stay anywhere else.
