A charming stay in New Haven

Our second stay at Graduate by Hilton New Haven was just as memorable as the first, with the hotel once again standing out for its charm, comfort, and unbeatable location. The location was ideal for our family—just steps from Yale and incredibly convenient for exploring campus and the surrounding area. We also loved the thoughtful decor throughout the hotel, which added so much charm and character to our stay. The hotel was comfortable, welcoming, and made our visit stress-free.
A special thank you to Kristina at the front desk, who consistently went out of her way to make sure everything ran smoothly. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made a real difference and helped make our visit especially memorable. We also had a great time using the provided bikes to explore around town, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Haven.

Wouldn't stay again even if Hilton paid me

I've stayed in 100s of hotels, the Graduate at New Haven was the absolute worst despite being one of the more expensive. I was expecting a well-maintained quaint hotel and it was only a dilapidated old building. First, there is no central A/C, they use a flimsy portable unit that stopped working in the middle of the night and, even when it was working, it did not cool the room which remained relatively warm and humid. Second, to get the water of that portable A/C out of the room, they tore the lower part of the window and did a ridiculous patch-up with some plastic and aluminum - as a result there is none, what-so-ever, soundproofing. I'm a relatively heavy sleeper and was still awoken 3 times at night from a motorcycle passing by, a car honking, and even people talking loud on the street. By the third time I was already sweating from the A/C not working and couldn't sleep again. It was 4 am. Third, the bedding quality is awful. The pillows just have some sort of foam in them and the mattress is well past its dumpster time. Fourth, everything is falling apart, cheap, or grotesque. The mini-fridge was barely keeping liquids below room temperature, there was a super-ugly plastic blue sorry thing trying to pass as some sort of fake fireplace in a room that barely allows for space to move around, the floor in the corridor is uneven and wobbly, and even the water that was offered was from a can instead of a bottle, tasted awful, and it was at room temperature despite being in the mini-fridge. I could go on but this is already long. It was an absolutely awful surreal experience from the beginning until the end. The only positive was that I stayed only for 1 night.

Wonderful Atmosphere

We stayed here, two rooms / one night, as we were passing through New Haven. A wonderful hotel and historic building. The rooms are artfully decorated (not sure how long all of that will hold up, but enjoy it for now).
My main concern was parking, but the parking garage was around the corner and I had no issues finding a spot.

No eggs

Business 4 stars price for no frills student level service. There is a beautiful heavy wood door at the entrance, opened manually. I had to hold it open, as I pulled my luggage in from the street. The door opens to stairs at the entrance. I had then to go up a dozen stairs, with my luggage, to get to the front desk. There is nobody to help. I got to watch a few guests struggling like I did to get in with luggage.
The front desk was friendly, and attended me promptly.
The room was clean, the mattress comfortable. No real coffee in the room.
The hotel has a coffee bar that is open half a day. You can order breakfast there.
Unfortunately on Sunday, when I went for breakfast before Mass, there was a sign saying that no breakfast sandwiches would be served because they were out of eggs!
Really?! Hilton, is it that hard to get eggs?!!!
