Stop over on our way to The Apostle Islands!!

Very lovely place to stay. Our room had everything we needed. Very clean and spacious. Close to many activities!! So much better than staying at a chain hotel. Unique experience! Would definitely stay here again. Great meal downtown at VaBene and dessert at the shake place and a short walk on the boardwalk along the River. All 5 minutes from our place.

Mixed bag

Pros: comfortable, spacious room, bed; nice balcony; beautiful common area; nice neighborhood.
Cons: non-functioning tv; no WiFi password posted in room, common area; no info book in room; no decaf coffee in room, common area; bathroom not senior friendly— high-sided shower-tub with no grab bars to exit, no bath rugs on slippery tile floor; no staff on-site for assistance; when we called text number, voice gave 10-digit customer service number at warp speed, too fast to remember or record. This was almost funny.

Fabulous!

This is a beautiful property in a quaint, historic, quiet neighborhood. The mansion is well taken care of and the communication about our stay was outstanding. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A Must-Stay in Duluth

The Salyards Mansion is an absolute must-stay if you’re visiting Duluth. It has such a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere, and everything is remarkably clean. The rooms are spacious, the beds are actually comfortable, and the TVs have streaming services, which is a huge bonus.
One of the biggest highlights for me was the bathroom. It was spacious, spotless, and stocked with plenty of towels. The decor throughout the mansion is elegant and classy, so it really feels like you’re staying in someone’s beautiful home instead of a typical hotel.
The staff also checked in on us periodically via phone to make sure we had everything we needed, which I really appreciated. It’s quiet too, and I loved not having the constant foot traffic and noise that you get in a busy hotel.
And honestly… it’s a mansion! Why stay in a regular hotel when you can stay somewhere this unique? It’s not even dramatically more expensive than a standard hotel. I would absolutely stay here again without a doubt.

Wonderful! The room was clean and tidy. Off street parking. We even used the free EV charger. We had to checkout at 5:45 am so I have no review on breakfast, but they did have a snack bar where you could purchase items by scanning a barcode. Such an interesting place. The old restored furniture added a perfect touch to the atmosphere. Creaky floors, but that part of the experience with being in an old Mansion. Very large yard with a gazebo and additional seating areas. The end of our stay was pretty cool. There was a deer(buck) in the backyard, about 20 ft from us when we got in our car to leave. Will definitely stay again.
