Good location, nice rooms and staff

The Outlook Inn seemed a little older and needed some paint refreshment on the upper front. That being said the rooms were nice and the location central to Orcas Island. It was on the Main Street but the town rolled up the sidewalks pretty early so noise really wasn’t a problem Our room was on the lower level near the parking lot. I would preferred an upper level room after checking out our travel companions same priced room. However, when I am on vacation I don’t plan on staying in my room a lot. We were there on a Tuesday and Wednesday. A lot of the restaurants in town were closed or closed early (around 7) for dinner. The restaurant at the hotel was not open during our stay. Check out Indian Island at low tide. It was a highlight of our stay and located directly in front of the Inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Sara’s garden was also a nice visit.

Lovely location, rooms could use a refresh

We stayed in a room in the original hotel building, and I felt that the rooms and amenities (mattress and bedding) could use a refresh.

Nice view rooms, thin floors and walls

Nice looking hotel with some good second floor view rooms, but were disappointed by the constant thumping we heard from peoples foot-steps due to the thin floors - they probably should have put carpet instead of wood. Earplugs don't help because the thumps are low frequency and then that's all you hear. Bed wasn't very comfortable and house cleaning did an awful job on our second day leaving a sticky table and stinky trash in the bin. The hotel refunded us one day resort fee for that, which was $15 off of our 3 night $2000 bill, so... They also gave us a check-out at 12 instead of 11, which was nice - but didn't tell the cleaning staff, so we had to take care of that. Just a heads up, the town is crawling with kids and babies for some reason.

Great Place Unfriendly Staff

The Outlook Inn is in a stunning location, and our room was wonderful with a beautiful view of the bay. Unfortunately, the service did not live up to the setting. It is such a shame to have a place this beautiful and then have the experience diminished by staff who often seemed uninterested, inattentive, and at times even rude.
The housekeeping was particularly disappointing. After my child became sick during the night, the housekeeper left towels on the floor, did not make the bed, and simply placed a robe over the stained area instead of properly cleaning or changing the bedding. We ultimately had to call and request that the room be cleaned again.
Overall, most of our interactions with the staff were disappointing. The one exception was our waiter, who was a very kind and professional gentleman. He provided the best service and the most pleasant interaction we had during our stay and was truly a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience.

Our favorite place on Orcas Island

Our stay at Outlook Inn on Orcas Island was absolutely exceptional. The room was lovely and peaceful. It truly felt like an island retreat. The warm, welcoming staff and unbeatable location in the heart of Eastsound made our visit amazing, and we can't wait to return.
