The Daphne Rocks . . .
Yes folks, the property rocks . . service, room(s), bar and food scene, location, etc.
Only downside is the wifi wonkiness . . assuming you're an iOS and not androidal . .
Book it - you will not be disappointed.

A String of Inconveniences
We were unfortunately greeted with a pest (yes, a live roach) in our room upon check-in; we tried calling the front desk but the room phone would not connect the call. We had to travel down five floors to the front desk to get someone’s attention. The hotel could not move us to another room despite our cleanliness concerns, but they did adjust our rate for the poor first impression.
Sadly, things did not improve from there. The WiFi in the room never worked throughout our stay, making all TV streaming apps unusable. The refrigerators in the room were hot, so we were unable to store any food (which is why we got a suite to begin with). The thermostats were set to 62 and we were all still sweating — there was certainly no way the temperatures were reading correctly. With no fans in the room, it was unpleasantly hot.
I met a friend in town at the hotel restaurant and we called ahead to ensure they would be open until 11, which they confirmed. We planned to go to the Hotel Daphne bar after dinner since it claims on its website it is “open late.” Halfway through our meal, the staff said they were closing the restaurant early, closing the bar early as well, and let us know we could go to another place in the neighborhood if we wanted to continue our evening. Half the staff was offering us more food and drinks while the other half was telling us they were already closed and we needed to leave. Really poor communication and left us ending the night early.
Rooms were also noisy with lots of slamming doors first thing in the morning. Front desk has a lot of staff just gathering in the lobby chatting, yet any requests (like pillows) took long to fulfill. On a handful of occasions, I was juggling multiple suitcases and carrying a toddler and staff would not help hold or open the door. They would simply greet me and watch me struggle through, while attending to nothing else and no other patrons at the time.
Again, the hotel is beautiful, the location is excellent, and the food was good, but none of that can make up for the frustrations we experienced throughout our stay. Not the Bunkhouse experience we are used to and not worth the cost of the stay.

I understand how frustrating the cleanliness concerns, maintenance problems, and inconsistent communication must have been, especially while traveling with family. This is not the experience we want our guests to have, and your comments have been shared with our leadership team for review.

Horrible experience.
I surprised my husband with a night away for Father’s Day, and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. He checked in around 2–3 p.m. and turned on the A/C before heading back out. When he returned around 9 p.m., the thermostat showed 66°F, yet the room still felt extremely warm and humid, with humidity reading over 80%.
When he went to the front desk to complain, he was told that it was simply “Houston humidity” and that he wasn’t used to it. We found that response unacceptable, especially considering the premium rates being charged during the World Cup. It felt like they assumed he was an out-of-town visitor and dismissed the issue rather than addressing it.
He also discovered that the refrigerator was leaking. After another trip to the front desk, he insisted on being moved or he would leave. Ironically, he had asked about changing rooms the first time and was told they weren’t sure they could accommodate that. Once moved, the second room was still excessively humid. He ultimately had to take a cold shower just to be able to fall asleep.
Be aware that this property appears unable to handle Houston summer conditions—and this is still the cooler part of the season. We’ve stayed at far less expensive hotels throughout Houston and have never experienced anything like this. For the price we paid, this level of comfort and customer service was completely unacceptable.
