Property currently under construction, but still had an enjoyable stay and good night rest. Super comfortable beds with speakers above bed perfect for a night in to watch movie in bed, friendly service, very good breakfast included with room, and nice clean bathroom with Kohler fixtures, of course. Use of the shuttle service to the American Club was convenient.

1 Star – Not Worth $500+ Per Night
This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had, especially for a property charging more than $500 per night.
The issues started immediately upon arrival. Check-in was delayed until 4:00 PM, and we waited approximately 1.5 hours despite the lobby not appearing busy. There was little communication, no sense of urgency, and no effort to make up for the inconvenience.
What was even more frustrating was discovering that the hotel is currently undergoing major construction. The hotel’s own website acknowledges a large expansion project that is expected to continue through 2027, yet nobody informed us about the extent of the disruption before arrival.
The construction significantly impacts the guest experience. Areas around the property are torn up, outdoor spaces are inaccessible, and the overall atmosphere feels more like a construction site than a resort destination. For a premium-priced property, this is unacceptable.
Adding to the disappointment, there was no food or beverage service available during our stay—only vending machines. Paying luxury-level rates and finding yourself relying on vending machines is ridiculous.
The most frustrating part was the staff’s response. Every concern was met with a polite apology, but no solutions, no ownership, and no attempt to make things right. When I explained that nobody had disclosed the construction, the lengthy check-in delay, or the lack of amenities, the response was essentially indifference. No compensation was offered, no accommodation was made, and no one appeared particularly concerned about the guest experience.
For over $500 per night, guests deserve transparency, functioning amenities, timely check-in, and staff who care enough to resolve issues. Instead, we received construction noise and disruption, delayed check-in, minimal amenities, and a complete lack of customer service.
Until the construction is complete and management starts putting guests first, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Everything was good. The front desk person Joan did not meet our expectations. She was bossy with no customer service and no smiles. She let us wait over 15 min to just check in and was super slow. Never apologized for the wait and we were her only guest at that time. Other than that the room and the amanitas were good.

I knew in advance that the property was under construction but that was ridiculous. Parking was super tight due to the cranes and dump trucks and such in the parking lot.
Hampton Inn serves a better breakfast and this was a $500/night hotel. Everything was cold, eggs, hash browns, sausages, etc. "The Bar" was a small area with a small selection of beer and wine. Very little liquor. Website says has a hotel bar. Grossly exaggerated. False advertisement doesn't begin to describe this hotel. The room was nice if you didn't look too closely. Black long hairs on the bathroom floor, dust on the doors. Staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. Very disappointing for a Kohler property. Won't stay there again.

don't bother
This was supposed to be a special stay as it was our 40th anniversary. I was willing to pay a higher price because we made reservations only 3 days beforehand. So we're talking $520+!!! When we got to the desk they found my name and phone # but no room even though I had received an email the day before with some instructions. We left them to sort things out and went for a bike ride. Kohler/Sheboygan/Sheboygan Falls area is very nice. When we returned we were assigned a room which ended up having a barking dog next door which did calm down a little after the owners returned but there were still some barks during the night. The room was avg and I've stayed in places all over the world. The view out our back door was ugly - just a bunch of gravel and dirt which prevented getting to the "lake". The staff were very friendly and attentive and apologetic. It's management I've got a problem with. We were credited a whole $50 toward our bill, which felt more like and insult than a genuine "so sorry this happened" response. It would take a lot for us to ever stay here again or to recommend it to any friend.
