The motel is on Highway 70, this motel is just 1 mile from Rio Grande. It features rooms with free WiFi. A cable TV is provided in each room at Royal Host Motel. The rooms also include a microwave and small fridge for guest convenience. Snack and drink vending machines are also available. Royal Host Motel is just 4 miles from Old Mesilla. Las Cruces Fairgrounds is less than 30 minutes’ drive away. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Simple accomodations at a very fair price point

It is so nice to be greeted by a smile and efficient processing for my room after a long day on the road. The room was clean, simply and comfortable. The shower water was hot upon turning the spigot on, the towels were soft and absorbent, and the bed was plenty comfortable for a night's sleep. All in all, I will consider Royal Host Motel when passing through this area of Las Cruces, New Mexico again.

Basic motel which is good for short stay

We stayed in a room with 3 queen beds which served our purpose for a family of 6. The rooms had a fridge and freezer, but it did seem a little outdated. The tub drain was in a poor condition and the bathroom itself seemed outdated and was a little small. The temperature controls worked well and the WiFi was working with no interruptions. There was no free breakfast.

This is a Vintage motel that has been refurbished within the last 2 years. Unfortunately, some this have to remain because of the original build. Most people like that we are a "Mom and Pop" business that are hands on and not corporate owned. We have addressed the drain issue already. I did offer to put chemicals to help and you told me not to. Best wishes.

Should I say hello to their little friends?

Two words: Bedbugs. Roaches.
Let’s not even get into the weird noises the room made or the smoke detector beeping because its battery is low. I think bedbugs and roaches covers all you need to know.
Left about an hour after I checked in.

Spotless and well-located

This no-frills motel sits on what was a main highway before the Interstates arrived. As such, it's a bit dated but so clean we couldn't even find a speck of dust in the corners. Given that the pleasant manager counted the towels provided and warned us that we would be charged if any went missing, we were surprised to find them so worn but pleased that they included washcloths. We were also impressed by the full-size microwave and apartment-sized (not mini bar) refrigerator and the cellphone charging station by the bed. One piece of advice: If you pay by credit card, you can avoid being charged the $250 damage fee. Granted, it's refundable, but still it's something of an insult. Oh, and for "long-term stays," meaning two or more night, you'll have to make up your own room.

Treated royally

We stayed here for our final night of the Big 2022 Road Trip. This was our second stay at the Royal Host, the previous one in 2008 when our son was a toddler zooming his tricycle around the parking lot and walkways. The three-bed room was a welcome sight after a long month of travel, and we were greeted by the manager and the kittycats just as if we'd stayed there last week instead of 14 years earlier. Looks like we'll need to stop here more often when traversing I-10.

Hi RCMoeur! This is Coral from Royal Host Motel. A bit of news....I have sold the Royal Host Motel to begin new adventures! Sadly, the new owners are not renting out nightly anymore. You were one of my favorite "friends" and will be missed. Best wishes!
