Classic hotel in Downtown Los Angeles

The Biltmore Los Angeles is a memorable experience. The rooms are well appointed, staff friendly, and food is beautifully prepared. The hotel would benefit from keeping there inline information updated

Old, tired but adequate.

I'm really torn; do I tear this hotel apart for what it's not or praise it for what it is? I'll do a little of both. What it is is an amazing, historic property. The architecture is classic, old school 1920s right in the middle of downtown. I love the historic photos and grand public spaces. It's really fun to wander and just soak it all in. From a functional standpoint, it's kind of a lousy hotel. I mean, I completely understand that the building is around 100 years old and likely needs constant maintenance. Even giving them some grace - I have to wonder if they've just given up. For example, the room amenities are non existent. There's an ice bucket but no glasses. There's a little coffee maker but no tea. There's shampoo but no conditioner. There's no real restaurant on the property. A breakfast room and a bar but no full service restaurant. The furniture is old, the desk chair is broken, the drapes are broken, the carpet is tired, the tub is chipped, and I could go on and on. It is reasonably clean and for the price, it's just fine. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's old and tired and it feels like they've given up but there's still some charm and a great history. So, if you can overlook the flaws and have low expectations, it is kind of cool and for the price it's just fine.

Visit to LA

Very friendly hotel and staff and very good services
Very close to downtown , easy to locate , nice food and beverages, historical place.

My family could not get over the history & beauty of this hotel! We stayed only one night but could have easily enjoyed

beautiful! Like staying on a historic movie set!

Hotel is amazing. The historic nature of the place is super cool. The hotels is from the 1920’s so expecting a modern sleek place is not way you would stay here. The areas around the hotel are filled with homeless people and at night I would not recommend lingering around at all outside. The area is not very walkable at all in lot opinion but the actual hotel felt safe and comfortable.
