Cozy and romantic

My fiancé surprised me with a weekend stay at The Inn for my birthday. This was our first stay here and we were so pleased with our room- we stayed in the Captain's Quarters. The room was a perfect blend of rustic coziness with contemporary upgrades to the washroom and bedding along with a wet bar area for coffee and cocktails. The room also has a small private terrace. The bed especially was so comfortable and the amount of pillows was a nice surprise and definitely a plus to this 5 star review. We took a peak at some of the other vacant rooms- each unique and cozy in its own way. Each has a Swedish burning fireplace called a “Kakelugn” that adds to the charm. The Great Room is a lovely cozy gathering space also with a Kakelugn to keep warm on brisk days. The grounds are clean and inviting and if it wasn’t November, you would be able to see more of the beautiful plants and flowers that adorn the two buildings. A smaller balanced breakfast was served each morning, everything freshly prepared by the chef. The staff including Maryanne, Colin and Rory were all so pleasant and made the stay feel even more special. We got to meet Bill, the owner on our last day and he talked to us about the Inn’s upgrades and changes throughout the years. He truly loves what he does and it shows. We look forward to coming back again for sure.

Charming Inn close to Lake Michigan

My husband and I were gifted with a weekend here to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! Our kids arranged it and we had an absolutely amazing time! The great room was so welcoming and Mary Ann made us feel right at home. We were lucky enough to have the Captain’s Quarters and it was spacious and charming. The outside private porch allowed us to have an early evening rest before heading over to a beautiful sunset only 200 ft or so away on the beach. Meeting Bill and getting the history of this Inn was just a delight. The morning breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, especially those banana pancakes!!
The antiques throughout the Inn as well as the beautiful courtyard just added to the charm!
We highly recommend The Inn at Union Pier.

Already planning ny next stay

We held our extended family Christmas party at the Inn at Union Pier and it couldn’t have been better. Our two night stay was comfortable. with room for 38 of us. The staff was accomodating and kind, the rooms were beautiful and the food delicious. I highly recommend!

A Wonderful Time with Great Friends!

We just had a wonderful few days at The Inn at Union Pier! We are a group of 15 friends from the Chicago area who are all members of a discussion group that delves into current events and literary articles. We checked in and were shown to our beautiful rooms, each one different and so cosy. We gathered in the great room area for a discussion session and snacks and drinks were served by the friendly staff. We had a great time and the staff was always asking what else they could do for us... it turned out to be wine and cheese at 5:00 before dinner. Although we went out to dinner, the staff assured us they could have catered a dinner there with a slight bit of notice. I know we will go back next year, because the food is fabulous, the Inn is beautiful and the staff is the best! They had special accommodations for those who were gluten free, and that food was also fabulous. We asked the chef to come to the dinning room so we could thank her and tell her how thankful we were for her beautiful meal. All this, in an incredible setting a few steps from a beautiful Lake Michigan Beach. Wow! Go there with a group for a wonderful time.

Thank you for the awesome and wonderful review. The ladies were saying the Inn was like walking into a Hallmark Movie set. Looking forward to you coming back and hopefully it's cold enough to light the fireplaces. Maybe next time we can cater a special dinner with appetizers with the wine before dinner. We have a wonderful chef and she loves to cook for people. Thank you once again for taking the time to write a lovely review of your one night stay at the Inn. Awesome amazing inn super close to beach

This is our second year having a girls trip at Inn at Union Pier and we will be back again next year. Such a well run inn. Bill the owner is very gracious and kind as are all the staff. The breakfast is delicious every morning and it’s the little touches that make the difference: the homemade cookies, the wine hour, popcorn & lemonade/ ice tea for snacks. Rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable. The very short walk to the pristine beach with the inn provided beach chairs & umbrellas make going to the beach a breeze! They also have bikes. Lovely area for walks and great restaurants nearby. I could go on and on -oh yea a hot tub!
